The official website of the second season of Arknights: Reimei Zensou (Arknights Animation: Prelude to Dawn), Arknights: Touin Kiro (Arknights: Perish in Frost), announced three supporting cast, additional staff, and a second teaser promo on Saturday.

Cast
Jessica: Ryou Hirohashi (Aria the Animation)
Frostleaf: Ai Kakuma (Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu)
Swire: Sora Tokui (Uma Musume: Pretty Derby)

Shintarou Douge (Juuni Taisen episode director) is joining Masaki Nishikawa (Breakers director) as assistant director.

Yuuki Watanabe is returning to direct the second season at Yostar Pictures. Aya Takafuji (Blue Archive) is designing the characters, and Yuuki Hayashi (Boku no Hero Academia) is composing the music.

The action television anime series is based on Hypergryph's Arknights smartphone game, which was released in May 2019 in China and other countries the following year. Hypergryph announced a spin-off game, Arknights: Endfield, for PC and mobile in March 2022.

Can we say that at the moment this is the most worthy adaptation of the Chinese game?

Lullabye instrumental ver. playing... hoping this will be a longer season this time if it's gonna adapt the entire arc

This will likely adapt chapter 4-5 of arknights (First half of Act I). There's around 2-3 hours of story content in those chapters. Hopefully they do Frostnova and Faust justice.

I actually cannot wait. It's not even something I was originally going to watch, I didn't even learn about its existence until several weeks after it had already started airing (and had never heard of the game, the name, or anything to do with the franchise before that), and it's not even necessarily the type of series I would have sought out and gone out of my way to watch if I hadn't inadvertently stumbled onto it. Not because the premise is dull or unappealing - it's actually quite interesting. But there are a lot of series in existence out there with equally or more enticing premises and synopses, and at a glance this would just look like a run-of-the-mill generic fantasy, based on a video game which is already a knock against it as those tend to be on average be more low effort and less good, also seemingly lazy/generic CGI art which would also make me think it's going to be a fairly lifeless paint-by-numbers affair.

And yet, I would have been dead wrong to have assumed that. To not knowing of its existence and anything to do with it, it shockingly catapulted to quickly become one of my favorite series of 2022 and unreservedly one of the top two or three which I have the highest opinion of from last year.

The direction, voice acting, and use of music was so stellar and so impactful in certain scenes and aspects that it dramatically elevated it and the entire experience beyond what could have been another vacant spirit-free cash grab and beyond anything I would have initially expected out of prejudice.

Yes, easily.

So much better than Azur Lane or Girls Frontline. Very atmospheric.

But Ufo will work on Genshin, there is a chance that one will become the crown jewell of the bunch.

Hope Honkai gets one, one day, btw.

Now this, this is something I'm waiting for with anticipation.

Perish in Frost sounds cool as fuck and the PV looks dark and cruel.
