| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Wow, can't believe no one created any episode discussion on this series given the ammount of good reviews and also considering the legendary Leiji Matsumoto. Anyways this is my first time getting into Leiji Matsumoto work's. I am starting with this series since it has no direct connection to other works and also because i own it mainly. I been meaning to watch some stuff from Leiji Matsumoto for a while now, time to jump on this band wagon and see why this legendary writer has so much fame. This first episode really caught me off guard, i'll tell you that much. I kind of foreseen that the father was going to die, but when they introduced the older brother, i figured he would take off in his father footsteps and become the new MC, but i was wrong and he ended up dying as well and now its the youngest brother that takes up the journey into the unknown void. This should be an interesting series. I really love the intergalactic world that Leiji Matsumoto has constructed where trains can fly through space, awesome idea lol. Great first episode though. |

| This was actually a so much better episode than I first expected this to be! Having this alternative setting of the Ginga Tetsudou 999 sure feels really awesome as in this setting there already seems to be a good portion of drama and action connected to it. Especially the ending was just sad that after the father even the oldest son died :/ But well that means we'll see the focus being laid to the youngest son being the main character. But well I must say I'm very surprised by the overall quality of this first episode and I'm definitely going to love this series as well! Another amazing addition is that they got Isao Sasaki to sing the OP and ED again, completely fitting the original Ginga Tetsudou 999! So all in all one hell of an epic start! |

Even though it was predictable it still had so much emotion, I loved GE999 so I'm sure I'll love this too because I already do from just this first ep! |
