RIP Grak but also, Logan taking charge as a leader? Yikes.

On the other hand, I was not expecting to see Lavi get dressed up in maid clothes. Plus, she is very determined to find out the truth of a possible conspiracy in all this drama.

Glark was delusional if he thought that the mechs alone would allow him to conquer the continent. But with his demise Lavi sure become a hot topic. While his initial actions were somewhat perplexing at least his forces wasted no time in sealing off the most crucial of areas. Well Rean never wanted to be a hero in the first place just a normal swordsmen who isn't afraid of helping others. Overall a quiet ep that did well to showcase the aftereffects of the coup not just domesticlly but nationally as well. The refusal to pay the reparations though sure ended up playing into the hands of the empire though. Still im curious as to how much the society is doing behind the scenes though.

Best episode so far.
Rogan is interesting. He's definetly driving his country to war. But other than that, we see him paying respect to Glark. He still holds the Glark in his memory as one of the three men who started the Jaegers and was a legend at one point. Him asking Glark if being stripped of his armor is a load off his back, which makes you think of how much is going on in Rogan's mind now that he's in charge. That's enforced more by him shaking as he's looking over Haliask.

Glark clearly knows that Jayna was responsible, and asks her what she's trying to acomplish. I feared this from the beginning, but Jayna does seem to be a villian who just wants to fuck things up and see what happens. I hope they give her better motivation than being a madwoman.

We get a little bit of Marty's perspective. Saying that Rean might be sane for not liking his position. It's one line, but I like it. I still don't know how's he supposed to be helpful.

Erebonia has everything to make it look like they're the good guys. I said this before but the Northern jaegers' demise was inevitable since they were willing to burn villages and innocent people for money. Regardless of their intentions to help thir own people with it. And Aurelia explaining how it's better to keep up negotiations for longer to make North Ambria seem even more like the bad guys.
My only issue knowing all of this is that I heard [Reverie spoilers ahead]

We're not clear on what Jayna's goal is or her plans, so Talion's actions remain a mystery as well. Of course I don't believe Lavi is dying. She has that plot armor.

Overall a good episode. minor nitpicks if I had to point out any were Lavi not getting hit, the Northern jaegers who were loyal to Glark hiding in such a large building like the theater as if it wouldn't be searched by Rogan's forces marching over Haliask, and I don't know how much value Lavi brings now as a "symbol" or how she's supposed to turn their predicament around.

Also, I expect next episode there will be a timeskip. With the remnants of troops loyal to Glark hiding out, looking for Lavi. Lavi would be recovering somewhere, thinking about what to do next and what her goals are and why Talion did that. The empire biding its time pretending to keep negotiations as Aurelia said. And Lechter setting in motion whatever plan he needs Marty for.

Trade off one delusional leader for an idiot leader. The Empire thanks you for easy pickings.

Glark is dead! Or not. Dude still sticked to his beliefs even in death. Jayna=neutral stance, oh hell no Rogan respected Glark as a fellow Jaeger shows how Jaegers respect their enemies(Rutger respecting Baldur is also a example). Altina doesn't like headpats, other than Rean, yeah this show really makes her transition from CS2 to CS3 more understandable. Yeah, Rean has a perfect reason to hate his title(dude defeated a apocalypse that doomed the Empire, One of his friends died, A guy that said friend killed turned out to be alive, Finding about the truth of his birth and becoming a Hero all in one day.) Being a maid/butler really makes the best disguise as performed by Lavi and Ash respectively. Will Lavi survive or nah yes she will. Hope next episode will be the start of the war already, Damn even Aurelia is getting ready to leave Juno Naval Fortress.

The anime is really good in term of plot but yeah. It is clearly lacking in the animation departement.
Tho Grak was clearly arrogant. The Empire isn't just a sleeping lion, it will destroy everything in its path if left unchecked.

I can't decide if the cliff hanger at the end is too obviously telegraphing what happened.

Everything in my gut suggests, that Lavi failed to do the one thing that might have let them arrest control, and now she will flee, maybe be exiled, maybe turn to Rean for help.  Remember?  They telegraphed he can't say no to people in need.

The way they are suddenly rushing to this, is kind of meh. dunno if S2 is an option, but I'll addmit some disappointment.
Be thankful for those you have near who are dear

Seize the day, some exclaim, but that which is past, no more shall have its day.
