Wth is up with anime girls randomly ruining their look by chopping off their hair. Liscia looks terrible with that hair now. Anyway, this anime has been a bit disappointing for me (especially animation), as I was really looking forward to it. Souma as the mc is the lone bright spot imo.

I know right! I guess it is a monumentous event every time I go to the barber's now xD

Everyone is talking about the hair and here I am completely confused about Souma promise that if center becomes corrupt they can come to take his head.

If they give central all their power and armies, and then center becomes corrupt, how are they supposed to take his head? Just walk up to capital and tell the corrupt despot that he pinky promised not to be naughty so please let us kill you. What's the plan when tyrant with his loyal united army tells them "How about no lol"?

The reasoning is sound, united army is necessary with so many external threats, but arm waving checks and balances with a verbal promise is just stupid.

Swapping out the guarantee of having your own army to keep the king in check for rolling the dice on a assassination succeeding on the head of state is not exactly smart move.

Not to mention the fact that a failed assassination is a carte blanche for any tyrant to go full purge. And if the reason for the assassination attempt was human supremacist tyrant, woah boy is the purge gonna be ugly. The best possible material for propaganda bureau to agitate the masses about internal traitors who also are conveniently easy to recognize because of their outward appearance, things are going to go very Auschwitz very fast.

Given that this conversation was ostensibly after one sided communication from Souma about normal operation of the armed forces with no response from the 3 Dukes, it is appropriate - "since you ignored orders/requests from the commander-in-chief, your authority is revoked".
Souma could theoretically have gone so far as to have them and their entire family/clan summarily executed for Treason, but didn't (and there are reasons why not that have not been covered in the anime so far).

Fair enough, I'm interested to see the context that I assume you get from the LN/manga from future episodes.

But still, if it is so easy for the king to make a duke step down, or even have them arrested, then wouldn't the whole system have been powerless from the start to stop a racist despot? Obviously here (in the context so far) the dukes have overstepped their mandate, and have given the cold shoulder to Souma (seemingly) out of stubborn spite, not because they are charging in to stop a genocidal dictator, so they don't have a real cause to claim, but in feudal societies that rarely stops anyone who commands the army to interpret how they can exert their power.

King Souma is super smart, he will emerge victorious not only because he is the MC of the anime and because his mind takes him a lot and he has a rich intellectual and a very intelligent help (Hakuya). As for the enemies that will attack the Kingdom of Elfrieden, I don't know what to say, I'm waiting for the next episode to give me my opinion.

After Lion dude's speech of why he wanted to go to war and being so upfront about it, made dragon dude's decision to follow him even dumber than before his speech...

"If the princess is the one who draws out your strength, then I will be the one who conceals your weakness."
As much as I hate unnecessary harems in isekai anime, I gotta admit that was a good line.
(I don't hate love triangles or polygons though, they're a different thing)

Ugh, I loved her hairstyle (it reminded me of someone from Umineko) so why did she have to cut it :/ WHY author-sama??

I hope she grows it long again. I can hardly stand looking at her now :S

Yet another good but not great episode. That old lion dude and the dragon dude are utter fools. Nevertheless, King Albert should have indeed notified the three Dukes and explained in detail why he surrendered the throne to Kazuya (well, his wife actually made him do it but he could.. skip that minor detail).

Albert was fully acquainted with the historical quasi-federal command structure of his kingdom, so keeping the Dukes (who function as 'co-equal checks and balances', kind of like the three branches of the US federal government) in the dark made absolutely no sense. The 'non explanation' for that by Liscia was a ridiculous plot device designed purely as an excuse for the dragonoid dude to reject Kazuya as a king.

We also still have not learned what Kazya learned from the redhead father of that redhead idiot. My bet is, since he was an officer under the command of Georg Carmine, that he got wind of the Duke asking for 'help' from Amidonia. And that probably was the catalyst for Kazuya to make his move. I have not read Machiavelli's The Prince but I'm sure it must also cover preemptive strikes (either military or political). Something like "When you expect an attack from an adversary attack them first".

I completely agree. It's a stupid trope that brings aside of screwing with good character design.

She was so pretty with her long hair, now she looks just stupid. Still isn't as bad as what happened to Fena tho.

Unusual and unexpected haircut from the main girl but I like it

And boy, a nation intending to invade another country despite the cost of being censured nationally all because of a "loophole" that the latter country did not "officially" join the multinational agreement for peace. Oddly familiar with current events...

Kinda knew the duchess and Juna were related somehow but for her to be her granddaughter just wow she's older than I suspected must be a thing that there race has a longer lifespan or youth lasts longer.

The coolest part in this episode is when Liscia calls out to Carmine and cuts her ponytail. For a male lion his mane/hair is everything to him. The bigger the mane, means more protection for his neck in which means he is harder to kill.
