Anya had to work hard in this episode. The exams would be held on the same day as the moon enters its "new moon" phase, so her powers would be pretty much unusable, so she had to work hard in getting better at her exams if she were to avoid getting a second tonitrus bolt to her name. It was a good thing that Yuri was invited to help her out and it led to an amusing study session between the two of them. Yor's cookies looked nice, but Yuri was sure to eat them all (before throwing it all up again outside), but even Bond suffered after eating a few crumbs as well! XD

As for Loid, he had to deal with Daybreak, a so-called spy whose goal was to sabotage the test results for Damian and his older brother. Daybreak's spy skills are complete garbage, but his luck stat was very high as Loid, in disguise, had to bail Daybreak out in order to get into the vault where the test scores were held. After Daybreak did his thing and left, Loid proceeded to correct things.

The result was a high score for Damian, who'll get his first stella star. Anya was 213th, but she did barely pass. Considering how bad she is at studying, it was nice to see her make an improvement, even if it's one small step in the right direction. She deserves a headpat at the very least! =)
his luck ran out at the end haha

Ouch, the midterm exams that has the potential to earn either Stellas or Tonitrus Bolts based on the scores, and Anya really scored badly while Damian excelled to get remedial lessons and extra homework. And the person to help Anya out of her rut...of all people, has to be Yor's siscon of a brother Yuri, thereby learning that he is from the Secret Police. The psychological attacks raise Anya's interest, and Anya presumably used her esper powers to read his mind, though she can't do that on the test day itself. Also, Yuri is so hilariously dumb minded to think that he could earn Anya's trust, though he did work hard for Yor when he was young. What ensues is a hilarious study session betwen the daughter and the siscon, literally NOTHING went into Anya's head.

Operation Strix may very well be doomed, and Loid took measures into his own hands to make sure that Anya doesn't fail the first-term midterms, by hook or by crook of how the test results are graded. But he's not the only person trying to infiltrate Eden College, there's the hired spy Daybreak as well, proclaiming that he's Loid's rival of the East with shitty spy tactics but a ridiculously high level of luck to not be found out. But all of that stopped before he could go into the vault, only for Loid to help bail him out of the situation. And as stupid as Daybreak is, assaulting Loid in his mission and letting him see how the work's done from his hands, Loid just can't take it. Getting on the real mission, Loid was able to make some changes, and at the very least Anya didn't fail, scoring 213th out of 228 students.

Yelp, try harder next time Anya, and at least Operation Strix is salvageable, at least for now.

Yuri is just simple enough for Anya to wrap him around her little finger. I'd love to see more interactions between the two. Also Daybreak reminded me of a dumber less sophisticated "Archer." Just doing whatever the heck he wants because it looks cool. Proclaiming he's a spy, wherever he goes. The person that hired him must have been cheap af.

Well, let's not forget Anya must be one if not two years younger than everyone at class. That's a huge cognitive disparity - especially at that age! If anything, she might be a genius for managing to hold still with older kids.

Anya can't use her telepathy this time. For just one night, she must answer an exam paper like every other student and cheating through the practice papers won't help her.
Yuri was tutoring her stuff that wasn't even on her syllabus lmao
Enemies of the Desmonds hired a Twilight-rip-off to change their answers to be failing ones.
Loid gave up on altering her answers since he was content with just having her not fail this trime. Though it's still worthy of a scolding.

Okayish episode. Realistically, Loid could have corrected Anya's answers for any subject to get at least one Stella, but the series obviously doesn't want to go in that direction.

This last episode feels ordinary and a bit boring in the first part. For me, the second part of this episode doesn't make me bored even though it can't be said to be special.

I hope the next episode will be better.

The worst episode of an otherwise excellent anime. As much as I'm enjoying the series, the second half of this episode was painful to watch. The worst part is I know Daybreak is going to come back, probably at an extremely inconvenient time for Twilight that forces him to clean up Daybreak's mess. This trope is extremely frustrating and I'm genuinely surprised an anime as high quality as this went with such basic crap.

Looks like Anya didn't fail so the mission didn't end in failure which is good. Anya's gonna have to study hard to become a scholar or try again to become friends with Damian. Daybreak is the worst spy I've ever seen but somehow he still manages to get through undetected.

Exams.
Anya is worried that she won't be able to use her powers to pass, and Yuri helped her to study...more or less. The day of the exam came, Loid was the one who was most worried. And just in case, he goes to try to change the notes, but he met another... "spy", Daybreak.
Loid saw the exams and Anya passed...barely xD.
So the operation is fine, and Daybreak was fired xd
Good chapter.

Not a great episode.... The comedy in this episode is not my taste....
Yuri is creepy... He is a good looking guy , but it's sad.... His brocon is too far.... Almost like an incest...
Oh well, Loid decided to let Anya original answer since she tried her best to pass those hard test for a 5 years old kid...
