This anime deserves more attention

I think it's an awesome anime. The music and scenery especially are breathtaking. Awesome mystery and decent characters. What's not to love? Unfortunately though this type of anime is never really going to appeal to the majority of people. It has a niche appeal that most people just won't be interested in. In general what will attract the most amount of people is action and comedy and always has been. It's flashy and easy to consume. And there is nothing wrong with that. Doesn't help made in abyss that it's on sentai either since it's harder to find unless you sail the seven sea' s. Hopefully we can get a season 3 although I have no idea how far ahead the manga is.

most likely we only gonna get a new seaso in 5 years plus, like 4 or 5 chaps are realesed yearly, so yeah not good

It is under top 100 popular shows on mal (ie first season). It quite popular enough in mal for a anime which began in 2017. Only 9 other anime which is more popular than this and release later (dr stone, violet evergarden and bunny senpai, slime, Kakegurui, demon Slayer shield hero, kaguya sama and black clover)

We are caught up to the manga and there probably won’t be enough material for another season for 3-5 years.

Well, you are wrong there. Made in Abyss was able to atract at least enough viewership for the 1st season to be considered mainstream in the anime community, however the show wasnt simply good enough to maintain that public, losing a lot of viewers between S1 and S2. That just means the anime doesnt deserve more attention, it already got it and failed to maintain it.

that's because of the movie. for some reason there is a much bigger drop from season to movie, compared to season to season.

demon slayer was smart enough to make a tv version of their movie to avoid this problem, but made in abyss didn't do that for one reason or another.

Too niche product, people these days would rather watch stuff like SpyXFamilia or Cumi-San. Moreover the source isn't getting a lot of attention either, mange isn't that far in front of anime to produce seasons of this show yearly. Watch some anime of mid 00's in a meantime.

actual reason was the recap movies. If only 3rd movie aired and then they adapt 2nd season then it would remain soo popular.and also the manga. 3-4 chapters are aired per year. And people will lose interest if it takes more time.
