I thought it was okay. As the other guy said it was pretty fast paced and the world building did suffer because of that although it wasn't awful in that regard. You're probably going to get more out of it if you played the game although it's obviously not required. Gut feeling it's going to be one of those shows where only the main 2 characters get explored and developed and the rest are just there to be cool/funny/whatever. CDPR were heavily involved with the script and I like what they did in the game so I'm not bothered by this. Other than that it's a typical over the top trigger anime with good music. | I felt the music in this episode was kind of annoying. The one scene with the kung-fu was kind of cool, but this episode otherwise fell flat. I didn't feel any sadness when his mother died. He looked somewhat dejected, but you would think he would be more upset about it. |
| It was an amazing start. Aesthetically pleasing and exactly how I expected it to be. Great animation and atmosphere. Great soundtrack and a nice set of characters. I felt bad for David and his mom. RIP Mom. |

| damn the MILF mother of David died so early and being poor is suffering but David got a cybernetic implant upgrade that will make him better and change his life there in the end |
| I recognized some places from the game, but it's very different. I like the atmosphere, and I'm already more invested in the story and the mc so that's something. But my god that classmate is over the top, I mean who calls someone to laugh at their mother's death just because they messed up at school and have no money wtf. (è_è) |

| As expected, the animation was amazing and went very well with the futuristic Sci-Fi setting, making its aesthetic sense really good. The OST was awesome as well, only at times. I don't get why they had to play it even during the dialogues though; kinda brought the dialogue scenes down by a lot. The concept of learning martial arts by just installing a chip and "chroming up" does seem cool. Until you get hacked and lose control of your body, that is. |

| The pacing, characters and story in this episode were pretty rough overall but the visuals were pretty dope and a nice return for Imaishi and Trigger, although it's not their best for the time being. Glad to hear Franz Ferdinand again in anime, love their songs in general. Let You Down was also great. The rest of the music was not that great. Didn't really blend in well with some of the scenes and felt disjointed like the story and characters so far. |
| holycow soundtrack is so dope, alot of things happened in the first episode alone and yeah it felt somewhat what i expected but i have no complaints and dude animation here is next level. |

| Really great atmosphere setting here, and I love it! Feels like a darker, higher tech version of Ghost in the Shell. OST and music in general is really fitting. They nailed ep 1 so personally I'm very excited to see where the story will go now |
| Simply fantastic in every aspect. Night City looks marvelous and the whole atmosphere of cyberpunk is great. David is going to upgrade his body. It's the only sane decision he could make after such disastrous day. In Night City you either win or lose. |

| Nah, first 4 minutes and I’m seeing mfs getting blown in half, faces ripped off, girls fucking, etc. trigger got a masterclass on their hands. I’m so mad they killed Gloria off tho. Her whole death and cremation was so sad. I get the point that it’s to symbolise how insignificant and little she and David and others like them are supposed to be in this world, but still. Hope David tears this whole system down. |

| That build at the beginning is possible, or at least was, in the first month, i did it. Like jelloapocalypse once said " With many death flags, that she might as well be communicating in semaphore. This anime add to reason why the game was buggy as hell. |
