| With Tsukito's problem, it seems Ichibanboshi had a complicated decision to deal with him. He rather not kill him. On a lighthearted and comical note, Akira was hilarious to watch with that "kiss of gratitude" lol. Seems this serves as a buildup episode but at least we got to hear the story from Okayo's point of view about her brother. |

| That mission ended in absolute failure. Let’s see how the gang ensures they don’t get whacked and the group dissolved. 3 days isn’t a lot of time, luckily they’ve got a lead with this Miyabe guy and his crew. I see while the rest of the team is out working to find Miyabe and stop whatever he has planned, Akira’s playing grab ass with Lord Geisha lol. That kiss on the cheek part was pretty funny though. But man, that sure is a lot of firepower. They’re gonna burn down the city huh? Ichibanboshi and the gang are gonna have a lot to deal with. Those guys have a shitload of guns and that wasn’t even the full arsenal it seems. Ichibanboshi better come ready to take on his brother. The fate of the gang kinda rests on it. |
| Good; Ichiban finally accepts that he must kill his brother. I like this development. On the other hand, Akira's payment of a kiss was hilarious to watch. |

| Like it or not, Ichibanboshi has to do the ONE thing that he is afraid to do: slain his brother Tsukito down who's turned to the path of evil as Rashomaru. Kodo is given 3 days to restore the Shinsengumi's reputation that's broken thanks to the elder brother whom refused to school his younger sibling. While the rest search for Teizo Miyabe and his extremist group, thanks to Sakuya's actions that Ichibanoshi is able to escape that has the others searching frantically for him. The one that holds the most information is Sougen, yet in exchange trying to get a cheek kiss from Akira was a straight smile gag. The Shinsengumi can't afford to overlook anything now, as do Ichibanboshi in understanding from Okayo about the Masked Demons's plan, and if need be to have sacrifices for the greater good. Ichibanboshi is back in business, and he has only a single clear path ahead of him: to stop his brother at all costs. |

| Well with all the bluster if Ichibanboshi had a shred of honour he would of let the sister of the man he murder kill him. But no, he wants all the glory. I still cant forgive his actions from last episode and I need to see some true grit before I can consider him a decent MC atm. |

I've always found him to be a really poor excuse for a protagonist: the typical always-somehow-right, always-somehow-triumphant loud-mouthed shounen jackass. And this episode just went on to prove that the writers have no intention of ever trying to make him anything more. Really the only halfway decent character in this is Sakuya - the only one that's at least a bit close to a real samurai - but I'm pretty sure he's just going to be used as a tool to prove that "the right way is the Ichibanboshi way." Ugh. (I like Akira a bit, too, and kinda ship her with the grey-haired guy; Sougen is amusing as well. That being said, they're both a bit too stereotypical to be considered good characters.) |
| None of them are Samurai so why should they be honorable? Bou and Gya even say to Sakuya "Not everyone is like you" I feel like the show is a little unique in that sense. Ichibonboshi saying he will commit seppuku though was I think the first steps to them all being Samurai eventually. |
