| Damn, kids in their world has it rough. Some even gets trained to kill their parents. Got to see a bit more about Ichibanboshi's past and it was a rough past. However, I do like how he keeps on a hopeful face and personality even back then. It seems part of that personality translated into who he is now. Episode was interesting to show what society is like in this timeline. |

| The opening's twist sure had me for a moment, it's decent enough. As time went on, the new rag-tag Shinsengumi gets targeted one by one, and in the midst of fighting against them, the Choshu spies are most prevalent, but the swords are the real deal in finding out who's behind it, using orphans as tools of transport. As for Ichibanoshi, he does not let his past lead his current, and the feisty kid now transformed into Shinsengumi is likely for the better. Knowing that the cross-dressing Geisha is indeed Katsura Kongou of the Choshu Domain, indeed, killing him now would be too hasty and answers will be lost. And since his interests align with the Shinsengumi, it'd be wise for them to work with him, though how much it benefits one another is yet to be seen. All answers lead to the Masked Demons, and the Shinsengumi have reason to infiltrate the Choshu Domain and find out their enemy as covertly as possible, all areas covered. Indeed, the person that Ichibanboshi is looking for is the captain of the Masked Demons...which happens to his dear brother gone missing, newly reformed as Rashomaru. The truth hurts harder than what you see. |

| Im not sure I trust the cross dressing guy yet, but he plays the shamisen, which requires skills and inner reflection to master so I'm giving him a pass for now. Orphan exploitation is no different to any of the other shows this season with slaves. Its basically the same thing. People need to get there shit together and understand its a global problem and there virtue signalling complaining on twitter about shows showing this is pretty much offensive to real world problems and the children who experience it. | Decent episode. Ichibanboshi and Sakuya still don't do well together, but I hope that will change. It will also be interesting to see how Ichibanboshi's brother is going to tie into the story as the bad guy. |
| lmao well yeah, I guess the twist makes sense. I'm dense and didn't guess it of course. Why did Ichibanboshi think his mom and little brother were killed though? He fell off a cliff and didn't witness it directly. I guess he thought that the Masked dudes were cold-hearted killers after seeing his dad stabbed. But did they really adopt Tsukito?? Why would he join the Masked dudes group, becoming the commander, after they fucking killed their dad????? Kind of want to watch the next episode to find out more. Tsukito looks way older than Ichibanboshi too |
