No he's really good at rapping. On contrary to your statement, Kabe not rapping in the last part where Eiko performs her song kinda gives an incomplete vibes on the the whole anime (in don't know the correct term, sorry for the suck explanation hahahaha). It would've been better if he kinda blend in the middle of the performance of Eiko.

I dont like rap as a music style, so I cant say if he sucks or if he is good, but I like him. When he was going to join the crew I though "Oh ok so I guess he is going to be the clown of the group, everybody is going to mock at him and disrespect him like most animes do even if he is a pro". Im glad I was wrong, I love the relationship between him and Eiko, they support eachother and they have genuine respect and they didnt force a romance relationship either. I could even say that I missed a stage duo performance.

You guys don't get rap, the only rap you heard is American white rap.
You don't even know Tupac, how dare you even voice an opinion?

Rap might have originated from the African-Americans in the USA, but since then it went global and you can find all kinds of rap.
French rap, German rap, Russian rap, Japanese rap and even rap in very obscure languages as I have come to find out on personal experience.

Rap is skill and if you don't get it, then you are a normie casual. Nobody likes normie casuals.
Go back to listening to whatever is "currenty" considered hot in pop music and play your Raid Shadow Legends on your mobile phones. Don't you have phones?

Kabe's not bad as a character but yeah my mind went blank when rap started to become a thing in the anime and I dropped it until now (I need to finish it for my AWC lol)

I don't like rap, it's more poems with beats than music, and it's clearly not my thing.

To be honest, I think you're just the type of guy that likes when rapping ruins the... I don't really know how to explain it, but I think it's the flow. Like you'd rather listen to the version of Maroon 5 - Payphone without the rap verse.

Completly agree! He was my favourite character and him not performing with Eiko at the end broke my heart.

I mostly didn't liked rap parts but my main problem with this anime isn't Kabe. I think we didn't had enough Kongming , i would liked more funny moments while he adapts modern japan more interactions with peoples more about hes daily life. Also drama with Azalea should have been bit stronger maybe

Those 2 problems makes solid 9/10 anime 7/10 for me not necessarily directly Kabe and rap parts but all that screen time should have been used better

Yeah i agree with this, Kabe himself is not bad as character, but RAP literally ruining this show, even though Kabe rap before battle on 109(eps11) is on Perfect timing, its just perfect, but only that one, others rap scene was so cringe ...

I don't get how 20% is a bad sign. First off, the sample size is potentially biased as the title is "Kabe and Rap completely ruined this solid 9/10 anime" and not "Do you think the show is better or worse with Kabe and his rapping?".
Honestly, I think that the anime benefited from Kabe as it would have become more repetitive without a new character. Shows can become more stale when things repeat. Also, Koumei as a character has not shown any character growth this season and the way his character is made (a tactician that is always right) does not support future character growth. As such, adding new characters who can learn and evolve, thanks to Koumei, is paramount to show off Koumei's character(Mentor type character).
Another thing to consider is that rapping alone vs. rapping accompaniment is very different and difficult to master. If you listen to his rapping in the ending song(the last song played in the season during the "credits") then you can see how this can be done well.
If the characters sang like pro's at the beginning then this would not illustrate any character growth. In order for there to be growth, there must be flaws in the beginning. Part of the show's draw for me is seeing how Koumei masterfully weaves the fates of those that are around him together. Even the antagonist producer ends up growing as a character thanks to Koumei.

Though I do think it's true that Kabe is not particularly essential to the overall story, his addition of Kabe is essential to Koumei's plan. Having a big name assist with growth is a good tactic to help boost popularity. This is done all the time in many Hollywood movies and why companies are willing to pay so much for a big name actor.

You just dont listen many rap song as i am. So neither of us had solid opinion on how bad/bad Kobe rap is. Especially with those freestyle-rap.

I just glad that he didnt become clown of the group as lots of side characters out there.

I like Kabe but yes the rap episodes ruined this show. That rap mostly beside the last battle was crap, maybe for Japanese in original form it was better understood, but I bet it was nearly impossible to translate to english. There was no point in showing so much of Kabe story if they did not perform live together! It would be a blast if they at least performed a song together in anime not in ending song. Like instead of 1 full 20 minute episode of Kabe story..
