SunBev's business-minded brain-wack of Director Oshitari just can't let the badminton team loose, and has found a loophole of Tatsuru's records...that date back to one Izakaya session with Yata where the Izakaya vice president self-sustained injuries, and he pins the blame on Tatsuru to disband the badminton team and fire Tatsuru. Plus all other blemishing records, it's literally killing 2 birds with 1 stone.

This is even worse because SunBev faces Unisics for the 2nd time, and this time the stakes are much higher because they're Top 4 of the S/J League. And Mikoto coming personally to Tatsuru's board hearing to save him out of trouble, that's just karma coming for both executives, and they truly deserved the karma.

Coach Ono's reshuffle of the SunBev singles and doubles team got to a rough start, but quickly gain momentum with the Saeki brothers with their wavering-but-determining strategic teamwork against 2nd ranked Doubles Hayato and Daiki. This makes it even worse as Hayato wants to surpass his brother Takuma of Mitsuhoshi Bank, and sadly for them, the game draws on SunBev's win.

With Usuyama of the East easily beating Ayato in singles, it's time for the finals between SunBev and Mitsuhoshi Bank.

I hate those two senile bastards. Well, at least they got what they deserved.

The way how the Saeki brothers used the net during their match was pretty cool.

Congrats, guys! That was a good match.

Today is very interesting in that there's also a new upcoming badminton anime Love All Play, but Ryman's Club doesn't have to worry, for its strength lies in its untraditional story of characters trying to perfect their work-life-badminton balance cause they're salaryman just as they're badminton players.

I found the brothers match contrasting, here we've brothers team that support each other, and another brothers are so competitive it become a toxic relationship, but I'm not saying it's bad by any mean. After all, they're first and second rank of the world. And they may still love each other, but badminton is one thing they're not gonna compromise.

But am I the only one who find the bet a deathflag (technically a loseflag)? Since Miyazumi is already injured, he can't play competitvely in the next year anymore, so making him quit the team due to losing the bet seems to be the answer. This will be his last official match. Maybe he'll become a coach or something, or get promoted to a higher position. But at least he'll be around to support Mikoto. And I hope Mikoto take this relationship seriously, Tatsuru is your childhood idol, go marry him already!

The match was great. Yeah, the Saeki brothers' strat was cheeky as fuck, but I love the parallel to Hayato and how they won. Everything surrounding the board meeting was pure ass, and the cherry on top of the shit sundae was the pink haired Unisics boy getting beat off-screen.

Those higher-up's finally had their just deserts after their plan to fire Tatsuru was foiled

The Saeki brother's dynamic works so well in badminton, their tenacity and somewhat cunning plan worked out well. Kouki's addition, that Touya can't do a fence hit without Souta's head there had me cackling

Their opponent, Hayato had some bitter memories locked away. I wonder if we'll get to see his toxic relationship with his brother, Takuma, change to a more healthier one

Great job to the boys, now time for Tatsuru and Mikoto to take on the last match~

LMAO, so much for realism and real techniques from this anime, that meeting and the net cord tactic were ridiculous lol... At least try and stay consistent with the naturalism.

Dang those two business dudes were pathetic. The badminton stuff was fun to watch this episode. Wish the series had more time to flesh out its story. This episode felt packed with lots of sport cliches. Still fun just a show crammed with too many ideas.

I don't think there's been any episode which I disliked about this anime. the Saeki brothers were freaking amazing and the bit after the ED showing the defeated player from the other side made me crave to see how the game went. I'm all ready for the next ep. can't wait to see them win the SJ league.

I mean, compared to things we've seen in other sports anime... even that ridiculous net cord strategy doesn't seem that ridiculous. I mean, Kuroko's basketball the characters basically... let's face it they DID have superpowers. Hitting the chord every time like that is absurd, but you could at least train for it to some extent. It wouldn't be that consistent though. At least they aren't just "IN THE ZONE" and moving at the speed of light xD.

I did like, however, that they were concealing their shots. Shuttlecocks don't move all that fast so I could see it being a possible strategy albeit maybe not this consistent.

Overall was a pretty good episode.

Tatsuru seemed to be in a tight spot with his superiors resorting to underhanded dirty tactics to try and screw him over and get the badminton team disbanded, but Mikoto was there to help him out, starting with a return favour to Tatsuru in the form of a headbutt. What goes around, comes back around! XD

Still, Mikoto was able to put the spineless cowardly bosses in their place and expose the truth, which has gifted the team a chance to stay as long as they win the S/J League.

Speaking of which, I really liked the match with the Saeki brothers and how they had a unique strategy to go against Unisics and their main duo players. Sure, being able to hit the net with consecutive smashes over and over again is a bit unrealistic, but you'd be an idiot if you expected true realism in sports anime, especially racket sports, so I don't mind it here at all. =)

Either way, the brothers got their well deserved victory and Usuyama destroyed the young prodigy to send Sunlight Beverages into the finals against Mitsuhoshi Bank. Hopefully Usuyama's match in the finals won't be skipped this time, although I can understand as to why his match was skipped here. Aside from that, great episode.

omg are they really skipping usuyama VS ayu's character's match? that would be such a shame, looked like an intense match. i hope we get to see at least some of it! usuyama has come a long way, hope we get to see him play :(

i dont believe mikoto could have just walked in so easily to that meeting & get so worked up towards his superiors IRL lol.....and man, why didnt that female colleague at least go in with mikoto..? kinda indirectly throwing tatsu under the bus, much less he tried to protect her in that uncomfortable situation, she didnt want to speak up & went to mikoto, someone who didnt even witness that incident, hoping he would be the one to fix it instead of her, coz she was afraid it would jeopardize her career or what? :/

Why is it so funny that Souta gets hit by the shuttlecock when Touya is receiving lol T_T the switching of 'aniki' to 'nii-chan' at times, uwu. They won!!!

When Mikoto went to the meeting to defend Tatsuru and explain Yata's side, I thought - did Mikoto's words had more weight because he is a male in front of an all men's meeting? Than if Yata went, the person that experienced harassment with a high ranking male client, because she's a woman? It also crossed my mind that Mikoto being a rookie and first time corporate worker was an advantage because he was not yet as swallowed by power dynamics or "respect". He just barged in the meeting help me

That post-credits scene, will they really not give even a glimpse of Usuyama's match with Ayato??? NOOOOOOOO maybe we'll see him play in the finals please. Usuyama being at top condition despite his hiatus (though he still kept his physical condition in check), he's so cool aaa

The business stuff with that old executive dude was fucking annoying, but the doubles match was a banger.

A damn shame we didn't see Usuyama clap pink boy, but we'll probably see him face Ibuki, so I am looking forward to that.

So much happened in this episode and for what lol. I didn't like the higher ups meeting stuff at all, very bullshit-y. The match was fun, though I still think Tatsuru vs Mikoto from ep 1 is the best. I wish we had more time to focus on badminton stuff tbh, in some areas the drama building feels lacking.

I really wanted to see the Usayama game. Him coming back to Badminton after so long was a huge step for him, it definitely made me look forward to seeing his hard work and training come to fruition. What a bummer.

i agree that having the semifinal winning match happen in the after credit scene was lame. we didn't see a single point from the match

that said, what's even more lame is how that boss guy was able to falsely accuse him of assault, and then managed to make a lopsided, weaselly bet against the badminton team even after he was outed as a liar. wtf is that?

that one guy had brother issues. sad. wonder how his brother will act in the finals

NOT because of this episode alone, but i think i might lower my rating from 8/10 to 7/10. it's good. i like it. i just don't know that it's as great as it was in the earlier episodes

For an old fart whose only focus in life is work, he sure likes to waste time on getting rid of the badminton team.

I like how they've managed to turn Toya unintentionally headshotting his brother into a move.
However too bad they skipped Usuyama's match against Ayato as that seemed interesting for his first match in years.

They are speed-running this tournament is such an awful way. And they even prioritized some stupid cartoonish business drama over Usuyama's first match in years smh.

That annoying alien from Green Onion planet wants to remove Tatsuru from the company by threatening to disband the Badminton team if he did not agree to a false accusation on him. Mikoto saved him.

Elsewhere, Saeki brothers developed so well that they beat the strongest doubles pair of Unisics. There was a lot of growth. By the time Mikoto and Tatsuru reached the venue, Usuyama had won his match against the cheeky pink haired teenager. Serves his cheeky attitude right.

Straight skip to the finals of SJ League Tournament. It's now SunBev against Mitsuhoshi. Guess this is how the finale episode is going to end.
