I believe the concern is trying to implant real world politics into what should be focused on simple entertainment. Netflix has a habit of trying to inject their opinions, which can be controversial to some, into their works.

Alternatively, they also try to reach a more broad audience by attempting to appeal to everyone instead of focusing on the demographic that became the fanbase in the first place. The idea is larger audience larger profits, but in practice it tends to just cause controversy and fights where the original fans feel burned and the new audience "doesn't get" why it was so popular.

I hope it isn't just another remake-o-rama trying to capitalize on nostalgia, but in the morally and imaginatively bankrupt corporate world we live in, that is most often what we tend to get.

There is a general misconception about Netflix's influence over non-domestic productions, especially anime. Usually these shows are already in pipeline and netflix acquires rights to stream then.

This is different sometimes when they do stuff like Neo Yokio which is totally original piece of work.

So no there won't be forms of censorship or woke stuff in this thing (If there is its likely on English dub if anywhere).

Yeah, my concern comes from examples like: Masters of the Universe: Revelation and the agenda that is always included in almost all Netflix's shows...

But if in this case the only "affected" part could be the english dub... No problems then XD

This is an anime adaptation that was a couple of years in the works already at least. We have the source material and the trailer shows scenes from it. What even is the "agenda" anyway?

Bastard!! is already chock-full of real world politics, for better or worse...

Trying to reread the manga recently I do hope they change things to appeal to a broader audience. I forgot that there's lots of, "women shouldn't fight for their ideals and should be at home cooking", nonsense and oversexualised 14 year olds in the early parts of this series, and generally creepy stuff like DS's relationship to Nei... I'm hoping this adaptation skims over that stuff to get to the better parts of the series (especially since we've already got the 90s anime).

Masters of the Universe and Neo Yokio were American cartoons, so I don't think it'll apply. Netflix now knows that, for better or worse, anime sells for a reason, and has generally stopped trying to Americanise it (with B: The Beginning being the only recent exception I can think of... and anyone who's seen that show knows how it turned out).

They had nothing to do with that, once again they only serve as role of distributor

you are wrong they do, they have to allow things to run in their platform, and part 6 was kinda uncenssored so netflix did good for allowing it, altough i hate that they split the season into parts, again they had nothing to do with this too?

The beliefs that I expressed in my comment were that sexism, grooming and the sexualisation of minors for the gratification of the audience are all bad things, so every story should reaffirm my beliefs. It's not that we can't discuss topics like sexism, grooming and sexualisation of minors in media, but they should only ever be framed as bad things.

You were right in the first half of your comment, every modern adaptation of a story should be altered to express my ideals.

people who complain about Netflix but don't know that netflix doesn't produce anime, they just license them.

I don't understand why the average anime fandom is so stupid?

they see woke, politics, agenda everywhere ... they are all paranoia.

Without streaming services, anime would still have remained in their niche market, one of the reasons for their recent popularity is services such as Netflix.
But always complaining.

It means that cringe obssession american convervatives have with "MUH CURTUR WARS, NETFLIX/FUNI/Crunchy censor muh p0rn, EVERYTHING IS WOKE NOW, N0000". Blame Hero Hei and his clones for dumbing down those guys.

Which is nonsense, are Kakegurui ahegao faces political enough? Is a NETFLIX show as well...

At most there will actually be some form of censorship in the form of some lines of the eng dub. But only morons watch ameridubs over japvoicedsubs, those who do deserve to be screwed. Specially with such a good and stacked JP cast, like this one. Why would you go over secondary voice overs?

You better drop the show already, it's NOT for you. No offense, I swear.

Dark Schneider groomed Arshes, and this act is portrayed as mostly a good thing. "Sexism" is blatand, and is part of the show identity to have busty women in skimpy clothing simping for DS in at least some level.

Dont recall anything with minors, aside from DS host being a underaged kid, but at most Yoko mouth-kisses him to awake DS...and that's it. Author is into adult women. Very into.

Also, complaining about it here on MAL, Reddit or on Twitter wont make NETFLIX change anything about the show, or even remove it from it's catalog. Again, just leave and have a nice day (supposing you're not a larping troll maskerading as tumblite, which seems to be the case in the end of your post "everything media must agree with me"). Yes, this show will keep existing. Pretend it does not, and it will make you happier, and saner. Same with us, as those discussions are inane and trainwrecks.

Oh no... the evil conservative are concerned about wokescolds shoehorning cringe bullshit into their entertainment. How dare they care about something, especially... tv shows. The most pressing of issues that we definitely have to fight them on. /s

Really though what makes you think anything about anime is immune from this shit anyway? To your last point, what happens when the english subs are just as bad as the dubs? They're already heading that way, so Idk what we're pretending like this isn't going to eventually be a problem for. You're either willfully ignorant to reality, or just in favor of all the weird bullshit translators will insert into anime subs (not just politics lol). This is without getting into the influence this stuff has had on manga already, which is obviously a spill over to anime.

Netflix never censors anime.
Literally the ones who censor anime are chinese companies (specially if their companies have a hand in the production comitees, like Tencent, for example), and Japan very own government (who has been conservative for...literal decades of same party), who recently even tried to ban bikinis in their own cartoons.

To your last point, what happens when the english subs are just as bad as the dubs?

Watch fansubs instead of OG subs, in this case. They are usually better, anyways.

Educated question, just for curiosity: If Princess Knight was a seasonal, would you be calling it a "SJW show with a agenda"?
