I feel conflicted about Edward being a king. It seems Richard has his own feelings mixed too.

Again, it seems this show really emphasizes on the important relationship between Richard and Edward. They are emotionally drawn together and this episode is no different. Hell of an emotional episode imo, especially for Richard.

King Edward of York is made the new King of England, and Richard...still has grievances towards Henry.

The War of the Roses has embraced its end, and the York family celebrates in full view, except Richard whose demonic past continues to haunt him. All he ever cared is to exterminate Henry, but in the objectivity of his past, he hesitated to kill him, even if it pains him so.

The chastisement of family members just doesn't stop about Richard's intersex gender, and Richard feels fuzzy to the point of submission to Henry, which I feel that both are salvation to each other, even if it's sin: the Angel and the Devil. But with all the mind manipulation of the Edward's mother, Henry has been brainwashed to the point of debauchery, and sadly that led to his death unwillingly.

Even Anne and Isabelle have tragically separated from the latter's engagement to Edward of York, and Anne is next on the chopping board to be wed to Richard, even if it doesn't feel like real love.

The noble has died, and in place, stood a demon. This is probably the best episode thus far that showcases the manga's dreary underlying tones.

Henry, with his weakened mind, is brainwashed into hurting Richard. Richard, with his conflicted heart, is manipulated into killing Henry. Furthermore, Anne, who appears to be pregnant with her late husband's child, will be married to Richard.

Seems poor Richard is fated to forever be despised and manipulated by those around him to further their own gains; never to truly be trusted or appreciated. And the one person who could've given him unconditional love was slain by his own hand. How utterly tragic.

I could feel Richard's anger and sadness on a personal level when Henry said those things about the curse and his birth since my mother says the exact same things about me.

I like to think that if Henry hadn't been in a mentally compromised state, he wouldn't have rejected Richard like that. But with his disease and stress and Richard's mother's manipulation, it was all too much for him and it just built up. He only knew the bad about what they were doing (that Richard was a "demon," that his religion didn't approve) and couldn't remember any of the good parts of their relationship, so it didn't go well.

If Richard had tried to go for it with Henry back while they were still in the forest together, it would have probably still scared Henry and made him worry about religion, but I don't know that he would have called Richard a demon. He always seemed sad when Richard called himself a demon. And Henry might have eventually been able to accept his own feelings.

One thing I wonder about is what Henry's problem is with wolves. He told Richard that they're demons given form, and when he was having his mental breakdown he was yelling about wolves. Did he have a bad experience with them? I guess we'll never know now.

Great episode! Edaward is finally king! Richard has very conflicting feelings on Henry...
Edward asks Richard to murder Henry...
I really hate Edward's wife and Henry, George's and Richard's mother a lot!
Richard ended up killing Henry.
That was a very emotional scene to watch.

Looking forward to the next episode!

George and Isabelle want to outsmart Edward's wife but they can't hold a candle against that viper.
Payback is going to be a real bitch for a lot characters in the second half of this series.

I imagine that fear is related to both Henry's religious devotion and Henry's lifelong dream of becoming a shepherd and living a quiet life in the countryside.

Richard decided to choose Henry, but Henry ended up getting manipulated to hurt him instead. I love drama like that. It's not caused by miscommunication. It happened despite them communicating.

Anne is being manipulated by her sister. And, Edward wants to marry her off to Richard!

Queen Elizabeth—I thought her loyalties lay with the Lancaster, but she was okay with killing their king. Guess she's just loyal to herself. I hope she can be a good villain. She has the potential to be a great one. Female villains are always so rare, and most of them are either old women who want to be pretty or beautiful girls who later fall for a guy and get redeemed or someone doing something out of jealousy.

Henry isn't dead, right? Richard didn't stab him fatally. Catesby said he had prepared a body double. Also, Anne (and by extension, us) was not allowed to look at the body at the end. Looks like a trick used to deceive the audience!

The mum is shit!

Anne is definitely pregnant. She would not get nauseous around Richard otherwise.

The ending song played over the story. Well, I guess that means we'll get a new ED from next episode.

I have so many thoughts and my heart is so heavy. The bgm, their facial expressions, voice acting, decent animation, it was such a great last ep for the first cour.

Catesby knows about Richard's feelings for Henry, does try and spare this fate in the end, and arranging to have another body left in his place. He was so sweet for still trying to protect this one place where Richard was loved.

I feel so bad for Richard, he can't find any happiness without someone else trying to take it from him. His brothers are slowly getting worse and worse, with Edward his completely under the thumb of his wife and mother and doesn't even realize it, and George not being the sharpest knife in the drawer. Plus, being called "Demon" from the one person you loved truly... damn

Despite the slideshows and the lack of animation some times, I'm enjoying this anime so far and I think it's easily one of the best animes I've seen in 2022 as of now. Looking forward to the next episode!

I really feel for Richard, he literally gets rejected and betrayed almost every episode - what a poor baby ;; His last encounter with Henry was really touching.
I must admit that I like the artistic imagery and the almost psychedelic color scheme switch whenever we enter characters' mind. Truly beautiful. This episode was surprisingly good.

Henry really is suck in this episode... Poor Richard... He knew that Henry is the only one left to love, but he got betrayed by him. Richard mother is an asshole, she should just die painfully.

Richard oldest brother did a great job as a leader before, but for him to listen to his wife 100% make him not so suitable as a king... He's been control by Elizabeth command more than his own decisions.

Now Anne is pregnant, and is force to marry Richard... I feel sorry for Anne... She's also in despair just like Richard is ... Her younger sister is an asshole as well...
I hope Richard still keep Edward gift from before... Edward is far better than Henry.

Henry and Richard's scene was so good. These two have my heart. It really killed me to see Richard stabbing Henry...
What I'm thinking now (not knowing the manga story) is that he might have switched the body as he was told. He said to Anne that Henry wasn't inside also.
And I really need my happy ending 😭😭.

It's so unbelievable the kiss with Henry was somehow censored with the dark shapes and the sword... but the kiss with Anne of course was in full view...

Wait, haven’t I seen you somewhere already? Wasn’t that under that one to your eternity post where i told you not to blame everything on one character? Well, it’s nice to see you again, love how you make these resumes!😊

One thing only: Henry was already mentally ill before the story began. For example: He had schizophrenia and had a complete mental breakdown in 1453 for 18 months. He did not move, speak or do anything, he was completely gone. He missed the birth of his only son( that’s why he’s called Edward and not Henry, because the father had to acknowledge the child to be name after him), they even brought it to him to see if it would wake him up. I didn’t work.

Poor Henry. Like you said, he was an angel. Guess the influence of Cecily and his trauma combined with the discovery of Richards gender were the drop that made the vase overflow( like we say in German). May he find peace.

Maybe it is a metaphor for his own wife? Margaret of Anjou was given the nickname She-wolf of France by Shakespeare after all.🤔
