| Most of the jokes in the manga comes from the fact that each name is a pun of something. Don't remember specific meaning of the names, but Yamai is either obsessive or overbearing love. The name of each character is about their personality and they are exaggerated to make them stand out from each other. If they didn't it would be bland, but the downside is the weird jokes that sometimes are dragged too far. You also have the girl who acts almost like a dog and so on. Overall I read/watch it due to the wholesome relationship between Komi and the average male protagonist (ofc I bloody forget his name now). I should point out I really like it (except for Yamai) because there is plenty of bias in this opinion. |

| As the compensation for the missing plot of the remaining 11, Komi-san was heavily character-driven. We had a cute, all-rounded catgirl who couldn’t express herself as the protagonist, which has given us the will to protecc, as all her moves were loved and welcome, instead of being a sore in the eyes like Wata… someone’s waifu. Then came a bunch of troubled kids, who were incapable of speaking their minds at will, without being archtypes like yandere, masochistic, ninja, background character, chuunibyou, childhood friend, trap, rival… Even more of them are yet on screen, as the goal is to set the count up to 100, thus there is a hopeful and eerie future awaiting the audiences, to witness their growth out of those shallow cocoons. Last but not least, the staff would never be complete without a plain normie in trouble with his own existence, which was quite ordinary, yet indeed irreplaceable for the story to proceed. As a result, all serious, no comedy here. |

| I really enjoyed this anime and I thought it was very humorous, it had me laughing many times. |
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.  |

| I think this anime is pretty overrated and cringe. At first I liked it, but it got old fast. Most of the characters are annoying af. |
