| Fable: As far as I can tell, there is no real distinction between fairytales, fables and mythology in eastern cultures. I may be wrong, but I can't seem to find anything that would separate these sorts of tales. Technically, a fable should teach a lesson, but many anime do that without the fable. Gladiator: Though technically not gladiators, the participants in the Heaven's Arena Arc of HunterxHunter had battles and feats of strength for the enjoyment of the crowds, much like gladiator tournaments.
