Why do you think the anime is adapting the manga so fast if they have 24 episodes?

In two episodes they're already well into volume 2. Usually you can squeeze 4 anime episodes per manga volume, 3 episodes per volume is the best pace, 2 episodes per volume is fast, but they are doing almost 1 episode per volume! Do you think they are going to (loosely) adapt the whole 14 volumes that have been translated? They could, at this pace. And I feel like this doesn't happen often, adapting this much manga content during season 1. They have confirmed 24 episodes, they could have done a great adaptation if they only did the first 8 volumes.

Or an even better adaptation of the first 4 volumes if they had simply invested their budget into 12 episodes, instead of doing 24, and then they wouldn't need to resort to this powerpoint-style anime (it's basically a motion manga wtih voice acting). They were given enough money to produce 12 great episodes, yet they stretched it to 24, and instead of focusing on just the beginning of the manga like most 1st anime seasons do, they are speeding through the story. I have so many questions about what the hell is going on with the production of this anime, it's like they made everything complicated for no reason, wasting the great potential of the manga.

Anyway, what do you all think?

Haven't read the manga, but I might start, this 2 episodes was too rushed I don't even know what is happening anymore

I'm actually glad as I'm tired of series:

A) Being forced into the obnoxious and self-limiting, arbitrary 11 - 13 episode format as if it's sufficient (it almost never is outside of Slice of Life series and a few bold experimental anime)

and

B) Never having a season two after doing so

I'd rather see a rushed story in 24 episodes than a rushed story in 11 - 13 episodes or a non-rushed unfinished story in 11 - 13 episodes just because I'm very sick of that formula.

Because that's the norm, when adapting a finished manga. Most anime adaptations are incomplete because the manga is still ongoing.

Getting 24 episodes is a rarity nowadays. If they'll keep adapting one volume per episode, the pacing is bound to get better.

Honestly I like that they turn it to anime but manga is way better. The timeskips and big jumps just make the first episodes so confusing. If I didn't read manga I would've dropped. Now just curiosity got me watching trough to see how they will deliver it.

The manga is listed as complete on both MAL and Wikipedia. There is going to be a spin-off, but that's another matter.

That's true the 17th volume will be the last so the manga has ended. This definitely explains all of my questions in the post. Thank you!
