This is ugly that is true but don’t discount the hundreds of good cgi just because there’s a few that are ugly

I mean what is even the point of "trying hard" enough to achieve full-on 3DCGI? People NEVER learn from mistakes.

Well, this a new studio with no history and its first work. What do u expect.
Japan anyways was always interested in 3DCGI out of necessity due to there problematic working condition. Anyway company like orange or even graphicana and Polygon has there sucess at it so why wouldnt others try. No everyone has the money or man power or talants to be next ghibli. Ofcourse that may end up being trash like this, but they got to try regardless

At the end of the day, it's all business. People just gotta work somehow by working smart, not just working hard.

And making your work a derogatory of something like Ex-Arm is a BIG red flag.

CGI is also considerably cheaper when animating than traditional 2d animation which is why is becoming more prominent

"Can people stop using this freaking horrible cgi thing"

Not when eye candies like Houseki no Kuni and Beastars exist. But I agree OP, the industry should definitely stop using bad cgi like in this one.

Nope. CGI is a tool that speeds up production and the fact that the same model can be used for all shots means that in the long run it can also be cheaper. So in TV productions which are always a lot more budget and time constrained than movies for example it will always be used no matter how crap it looks.

They need better work conditions and better pay for animators. Still doesn’t cover the shit they put out with this F————— tier cgi though yikes

The story and premise of the show isn't bad, and the characters are interesting, it's just.... the animation is a bit jarring.

This technique looks really cool in games but it's almost unwatchable as an anime. I don't know why are they doing this and how japanese anime fans react to this shit.
I personally can't stand it and it makes me worry about the future of anime.

The really unfortunate thing about that tho is that even Arifureta had worse looking CGI for the monsters, and it was still a fantastic enough storyline to keep my hooked through the next season and the movie lmao
