I'm just gonna be honest this anime needs more love, this anime is better then most airing right now. how is this not at least an 8.20 the only bad thing is the CGI which is still not that terrible.

Honestly I loved this show right out of the gate, but the lack of a solid story arc and the episodic feel of it is falling kind of flat. There's still time to recover but the first episode or two were definitely a solid 8 from me, but recent episodes are closer to a 6.

I'm really rooting for this show though, I love the concept and I hope they get back to the feeling of adventure and danger they had in the beginning. They've lost that and went for a weird episodic/comedy route and I don't like it at all.

Yeah giving it some more thought I do really love this show but it feels like it's rushed a little like as if 12 episodes isn't enough for what they want to do some episodes reveal "major" characters and we're just half way? It feels both too quick and too slow

would've enjoyed it if it had better characters. The cliche character are the only problem I have with this anime

First episode was good, every episode since....not so much. It'll probably drop below 7 after it finishes.

I really liked it. Yeah it was a bit slow at times and Yuri is pretty underutilized, but it was a lot of fun and I loved the parent-child bond of Gagumber and Memempu especially by the end.

Also, that theme song is awesome!

Yep !
Really like this anime, a big surprise for me this season ^^

Ngl I got a lot a Made in Abyss vibe, but with mekas x)

I just saw the "graphic views" and it's going down like crazy, like Platinum end, it's so sad...

Waiting for a S2 !

It got the "Popular to Dislike" mark so It will stay underrated for a few years than people will be like "Oh Why isn't anyone talking about this". I have been watching anime for 12 years and seen this happen a lot. People start watching these kinda shows after being told that they should dislike it.

This.

It's fucking absurd. I have watched it in the last couple of days (after watching the first 3 during the season and decided to watch it later) and the comments on the reddit threads and also here are absurd, episode by episode.

It really feels like most people talking about anime on the internet don't even have 16 years or are so immature to not understand the incredible easy point of people siding with Memempu.

SHE
IS
A
CHILD

Any functioning adult with a brain knows that kids need to be educated, but also supported.
If you ignore the absurd life threatening risk they go through (which, anyway, Gagumber agreed to bring her around rather than just keeping her grounded as we know he did for a lot of time), it's a narrative arc of a father struggling to engage with his daugther in the proper way of a parent.

Yes, she is wrong often and her decisions are emotional rather than logical but... no shit Sherlock, THAT'S WHAT KIDS DO.
She sees her dad die in a dream, has decided since long that she can see real things in her dreams and so had an even bigger reason to go check out "that place".
Could she magically save him if going there actually resulted in an injury? No, of course, but she doesn't think straight, she is afraid and a fucking kid.

People go through stories without understanding tone and structure and then bitch about it.
I gave a 7 to this show, not much more, but seeing people not understanding the basic plot beats is maddening.

This. and I'm only up to episode 10 with the dubs which make it more bearable (since I require less effort to watch)

I watched the opening song cuz it was nominated in the r/anime awards and I loved it. If it had a better score I'd give it a watch

Buddy, if you rely on MAL ranking between 6 and 8 you will surely miss good stuff.

Just finished this series... and I'll say this deserves more hate. I feel like I just wasted my time with so many inconclusive stuff on the line:

- Whats with the red hurricane?
- Why the Kaijus managed to attack and why are they wired to the floor and then they aren't?
- Rainbow childs?
- Are Kaijus really a death-level menace? Most of the time the biggest menace are other humans with a grain of develpment.
- For all that unexplored world, we mostly saw known cities.
- What's with the world

Ok, to be fair many of those questions are to be answered really later on, but it sucks that most of those just get a hint and then they aren't mentioned again.

I gave this show a shot because of the studio.

I also gave another show a chance because of the director.

The 2nd one, afte 3 episodes, I decided to skip. I'm still watching "Sakugan" however, after 4 episodes. So I agree it's a damn good series.
