Been watching this series and hear how much praise it gets. Both my brother and I watched this series. Him and I generally have the same take. The story is okay/good nothing amazing. That i am okay with what makes me not too crazy about this show is the animation. If I had to describe it in one word the animation is stiff. If you watch the scenes you see how they avoid any complicated compositions. The figh scenes look bad and the sceens with his father figure the skeleton guy looks odd also probably because the animators are u familiar animating a skeleton which is understandable. But I dont understand how a series like this with such high praise has such bad animation. Im not the typer generally wwho hates on animation. For examples with mappa and attack on titan I have no complaints. But in the furure I see there being more fights and conflicts and when that happens they need change. I hope they hire a different studio. But that is my take on this. Anyone else agree to some extent?

I completely agree. Too many close ups, so no need for backgrounds, and the composition is pretty much to reduce workload rather than to give actual interesting shots

Yeah...animation-wise the show is weak but that isnt a surprise given the majority of the eps are outsourced and the studio itself is small.
Also the announcement of season 2 is the latest trending of "this was suppose to be a 2-cour show but the schedule is so fucked that we are going to call it 2nd season" which reflect well the actual situation of the Anime industry

I think it's nothing special, on par of shows like Seven Knights Revolution. I don't remember any jarring example of QUALITY. Not even worst CGI of the seasson.

Same shit as mha and 'animation' but of course you won't say anything about that.
It's decent for what it is.

I really love the character designs of this show, but yeah the animation is pretty stiff which should be expected when your being done by a small studio that outsources to a lot of other studios. Wouldn't expect much difference either in the second season, but that's the reality of the whole industry in general. At least we're not getting maho fim quality which is honestly one of the worst cases I've ever seen.

You just have to go to Studio page and see their track, it says it all... Another good Novel adapted only for the cash grab.

Just another isekai that has a subpar anime adaption, yet again proving my rule of "it's always better to read the manga/webnovel"

Still don’t see your point here lmao even if the animation is mediocre if they apart the story and don’t skip a lot what’s the problem

Idk what your talking about your point with the animation is valid but.... the story is defiantly not just okay. The story is a really good one

While I didn't find the animation to be subpar, it was very one note and didn't bring anything new to the table. Specifically, the character designs were "traditional" animation, and removed the rustic beauty of the undead entities and other characters from the manga and light novel.

I am anime only. I feel they skipped the reincarnation part not explaining enough. The light novel may be better but what I see so far doesn't stand out. Shows like ReZero and Mushoku tensai do a better job.

I am sorry but the animation looks quite like a slide show. The art style isnt the problem the problem is how stiff the animations and fight scenes are.

Bad execution. The story worked as a slow burn, slice of Life drama but they tried to make it into an action adventure which it failed.

And they did rushed over the first arc.

Well the background visuals aren't bad but the character designs are a step down from the source material and the later episodes is also a drop in animation quality.

Well it's pretty hard to surpass the quality of light novel artists, especially in this case where the light novel art is insane.
