This season shouldn't even exist.
And it still has the same ending the manga had upon skipping arcs. So the ending was just less impactful. A crying shame such a masterpiece of a first season suffered from this sequel

I agree if you haven’t read the manga (at least for me) beginning was a little rough, the middle and up to the last 2 episodes IMO was really good, then the ending (especially with the final episode) wasn’t really satisfying and obviously was rushed

Skipping arc and rushed ending are two of the worst thing when it comes to an Anime and this sequel has both. If this sh*t is pretty good then those like School Days, Redo of Healer deserve the title masterpiece.

It was shit. Like it deserves the hate but S1 was so good I feel sad that it's hated so much now. It was completely unnecessary. CLOVERWORKS could have given the anime to some other studio or just left it and picked it up later.

It was so garbage that I had fun of how stupid this was but I give this 1/10 because I don't want any other studio come with stupid idea of skipping arcs and doing oryginal ending.

It’s not bad, I mean the animation, the music, and the writing were as good as the last season, it’s just the plot that screwed it up. Skipping the arcs they skipped just didn’t make it great.

Don't you ever compare anything of s1 to s2

s1 is leagues above this shit in every aspect

No it's even worse. 5.44 is way too high of a score for a show that should be studied by future generations of filmakers as an example to avoid.

I watch the anime without reading the manga and i enjoyed it, but after reading the manga i can undeserved the hate it gets and i highly recommend you to read it, it’s a very well written story with a nice ending

I think it was fine. The beginning was just as good as s1 but after the recap it got worse.
The hate is from manga readers who think this is worse than the wonder egg priority special. At least they have source material!

It does deserve the hate season is one of my favorite anime. But then season 2 is so rush I would have rather them take a two year break between each season and put out two or three more seasons than try and mash it all into one plot-holed season like we got.

Nah man, it was more than just rushed; they introduced plot hole after plot hole in that ending.
with so little run time in between was also awful, and the idealistic message it was pushing in his relationship with Emma was so forced. They could have had an actual story to flesh out this theme with the kids exploring the demon continent, but they didn’t do it. Instead, they’re just like ‘hey, demons are people too.’ Okay, sure. Why not? But it ain’t impactful unless you develop it more, and it feels like a rip off of other shows that also have this theme if I’m being honest.

It was bad period, you don't have to be a manga reader to know if it was bad. First 2 or 3 eps were alright and then it went downhill from the bunker escape. Also seems like a a recurring theme that everyone has to make one of these threads.

I thought it was fun to watch honestly, becaise of the event that are much more wild

I feel like I've answered the same topic once, maybe someone just decided to repost it.

Anyway, yes it's that bad.
The season 2 is straight bullshit and is an insult to the fans.
It has nothing to do with the manga at all.
All the exciting and important part's are basically modified or are basically not present in season 2.
And it's all rushed, read the manga after season 1 if you don't want to be disappointed.

Peace out.
yes.

It was more or less the same with them returning to grace field and then going back to the human world, the difference is Emma stayed behind to supposedly gather all the children

How lmao, do you even remember the ending??

But who cares, I won't give even 1 point for the second season to have a very minor similar ending. There was only 1 minor similarity and that was that they all got into the human world.
yes.

The first few episodes were pretty decent but towards the end you can clearly see that they rushed it and I'm not even a manga reader. The most disappointing part is the last episode where it looks like they made a powerpoint presentation of some of the skipped parts of the manga.

So, I haven’t read the other replies, nor have gotten to the point in the manga where this was adapted. This season was just so bland and incredibly boring where it was a chore and painful experience to finish, only to be delighted by the worst possible way to end a story. Characters escape situations with ease, showing there’s no true harm to this environment. The newly introduced characters were depthless, 2 dimensional characters. The pre existing characters didn’t develop what so ever. Story wise, the world build was so minimal and disappointing, and the pacing on a grand scheme was way too quick and it was hard computing it into a coherent plot

I feel like this is the 20th "was it that bad?" thread we've gotten for this series.

Yes. Yes, it was, period. It doesn't matter if you've read the manga or not, the writing is absolutely atrocious if you actually stop and take a minute to think about it.

I haven't read the manga yet but i still dropped the anime at half season because it really felt like nothing happened, everything went incredibly good for the kids for no real reason and even when something better was going to happen it was avoided by some deus ex machina. So i started the manga from the beginning and, well, the first part is already better than the first season tbh
