Hi, I haven't watched the movie and I just want to know if there is sexual assault or harassment in this. I'm just a little tired of having to go through that in every lgbt story

Yes, juat a little bit.But it's not crass or overt and in this case it helps the story, because it helps both Saijou and Kusakabe come to terms with who they are. The overall experience of Doukyuusei is very wholesome, but because it's a BL it has some Unconcentual aspects, but nothing to much like Love Stage where it ruins the story. Doukyuuseibis still really worth the watch.

Also the Sexual assault scene is just an unwanted kiss, nothing sexual is in this film.

There is one kiss, and Kusakabe constantly pursues rihito at first kinda forcefully, but it's not so much non-con as it is kusakabe bulldozing through Rihito's reservations. If you read the manga, you'd see that this is probably the most wholesome romance series out there, not just amongst bl.

wouldnt say that kusakabe forced anything on sajou but more like took the initiative. there was a scene where sajou said no but wouldn’t say it was actual sexual harassment. not saying that concent is unimportant bc it is important but when it comes to this one scene, sajou didnt dislike the kiss. it’s rather hard to explain.

I almost dropped this film the first because of that scene but then I thought about this:in the Japanese context this type of kiss are like taking the initiative rather than no giving consent, I known culture don't excuse bad behavior but no society it's save of cuestionable behavior after all. This film portray the naive parts of a new relationship so it's expected to see mistakes like thinking about yourself and not the other so if you dropped it that early you wouldn't get the massage and then making the mistake of thinking this BL is as toxic as the older ones.

Uhm, I'm sorry to unearth an ancient thread but I'm completely confused and I don't get it. Maybe it's the cultural difference or something. But I don't see the non-con you all talk about.... ?
Is this about the first kiss, with the soda bottle?
Because there, as far as I can see, it was just a surprise kiss. Sure, not asked for but definitely not unwanted or uncomfortable. I honestly think Rihito handled it much better anyway.
I if OP watched this in the end and what their opinion is.
Maybe my standards are just that low....

Well, there shouldn't be a big problem for the surprise kiss, but he forcefully kissed the other guy more than once, which it's not good at all.
