Definitely going to check out Birdy. Half-season sets sounds good, I just hope they don't waste time dubbing it...

They will probably censor Sekirei so that none can get offended by accidentally seeing and boobs. After all everyone knows how evil boobs are, and how much worth Sekirei is without them. [/sarcasm]

It'll be dubbed. Funimation never releases sub-only DVDs.

... also, inb4 Todd Haberkorn is the lead in Sekirei and Birdy.

Oh, ffs. I have no interest in paying for a dub I'll never listen to. Anyway, Birdy is awesome so yay.

Inb4 "WHY DIDN'T THEY LICENSE MY FAVORITE ANIMOOOO" even though I'm a little late.

But good for them. I enjoyed Sekirei even though it was kind of lame most of the time.

I enjoyed Sekirei for some strange reason I haven't figured out yet. Wonder why they chose it.
Its dub will be...interesting, I'm sure. So many girl voices, so little to choose from.

I've watched the entire dub version of Shuffle and the fanservice still stays true. What makes everyone think they'll censor Sekirei? They have some free subs on their website.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing Sekirei and Birdy.

Quick bit of info; I was at FUNimation's panel at AnimeUSA. During the panel a question was asked regarding FUNimation's plans for dubs and subs. Their representative said that they will continue to release all their DVDs with both Subs and Dubs. They showed a few statistics on preference with hardcore fans and casual fans regarding subs vs dubs. It was explained that releasing both was basically a good idea because of the data.

Also, they have not yet acquired the rights to release Spice and Wolf on bluray so when it is released in December I believe, it will only be on DVD

They also showed their stats of bluray sales which I thought was a little surprising. I don't remember what the numbers where exactly but it showed that their sales with Bluay disks were twice that of the average sales of other Blurays, or something along those lines. They showed a good amount of stats for other things too but I can't remember.

Only Birdy is actually decent. Can't say the same for Sekirei. The manga was much better.
bla bla bla
The endless debate between fans and haters. At one point, after spending a lot of time on MAL, you just realize it's totally pointless.

I'm kinda surprised they licensed Birdy. I rather liked it, but it wasn't super popular online when it was airing, and I didn't like it enough to invest in DVDs, personally.

Sekirei, I know nothing about, but probably wouldn't buy ever.

The anime of Sekirei is good too... O_o
The musics, art and others...
And the anime follow the manga seriously.
But not concerned by that actually, i'm a french man.
I only want to have the others volumes of Tetsuwan Birdy here. (Only 10 volumes in France and i have to wait like 9 months for the 11 because that don't sale well. :()

I loved birdy when I was younger. I haven't seen Sekirei, but I'm looking forward to the Funimation I like watching it in subs, then dub...and sometimes Funimations does a great job like FMA, Fruits Basket, Samurai Champloo and Ouran High School Host Club. So I'll wait and see, and I have to watch sekirei.

Sekirei is one of my personal favorites. But i began to feel sick to my stomach one i heard funimation ''licensed'' (soon to be shi* fucke* with dubs). I personally do not like dubs, because your not learning anything, script changes and it just sounds ''weird'' and The voice overs are always horrendous. Musubi chan's (as well as all the other characters) voice already sounds great in Japanese. arrrgh! i am pissed...

I know this is a couple years late, but I just finished the dub of the first season of Birdy and I must say, I thought it was really good. The voices were enjoyable and not grating except for ONE character. THANKFULLY he only had speaking roles in a couple of episodes and his bad voice was only super annoying in one episode where he appeared far too much.

Other than that though, I really liked the dub. I love Birdy's voice, I've heard her used in other Funimation dubs and she's just got a good voice.
