Another episode of family importance. Gotta say, Anna is not in the best of mood in this arc.

Tao Ren continues to try and prove his worth.

Ren getting outdone by Pekote was one that I couldn't even have thought of, even the Adios Eternamente (Farewell Forever) by his Over Soul Grande Phantasme looked brutal.

Chocolove and Horohoro, along with Mikihisa and his team of 2 children are outmatched and outnunbered by Hao's detractors from the Shaman Fight participants to even the Patch Tribe, it's clear that this feud goes back way in time, and getting out of this will not be easy for Yoh and Co. They'll have to fight all the way now.

@-Elevate- actually quite watchable. Doesn't feel too fast as compared to earlier episodes.

But disclaimer, because these kinds of questions get thrown around a lot, and in my heart I really question that do these people have a brain to understand at the very least. Western peeps have Funi, CR, Waka, all those are great but people outside the West don't have that luxury. And yes I know I shouldn't promote it but I'd wish I tell these people to "get a grip".

They are getting much better in the fighting scenes, the father of Ioh is really strong,
they got a lot of gore lately, that is a good extra.

Try to compare with the original anime, but don't find the episode when this happen,
in the original

The original will be "episode 52" Special Training... and it's very different:

This episode was crazy. Dang dude. Hao is being such a jerk. Attacking people to increase his own power by devouring their souls. Seriously. Why not do the job himself instead of letting his lackeys do it for him?

Damn, that was a really good episode. Mikihisa's strong, but if ever they fall to Hao, they need the next generation to be ready and stronger, though that next generation is getting fucked right now lmao. Ren killing that patch officiant really came back to bite him in the ass, but he's a changed man now. I don't think Ren will die, but still pretty shocking. Yoh will probably save Team Ren hopefully.

It's gonna be nice to see Jun in action again though and of course Anna. Looking forward to the next episode.

Best episode yet. Moments like these are why I've always preferred the original story over 2001.

The pacing more or less improved as soon as it reached the point where the story deviated from the manga in the 2001 anime. Essentially the FMA:B situation

Last 2 episodes have been good.

Ren surviving this would be absolute BS though. It should have been instant death.

What a tense episode at the same time it was a very heavy thing with Ren's injuries and with some characters being introduced but without a doubt this was the best episode of this arc so far.

It's obvious that you have no idea what you're talking about. "His body died, they will heal him back next episode" you know that's not how it works, how are you supposed to "Heal" someone when they die?
You mentioning Plot Armor and telling people who read the Manga what's going to happen really shows that you dont know whats going to happen.

I'm honestly getting tired of manga readers being so arrogant every episode with their comments, replying to poeple who make opinions based on what anime has shown so far only, which is their absolute right as anime-only viewers. Not only you are being jerks, you are actually making spoilers for people. Seriously, stop that. It doesn't affect me personally since I've read the manga 2 years ago, but this is absolutely unfair to others here. Ren is NOT confirmed to die or stay alive at this point yet, they state that he will "surely die" but he is still alive at this very moment, so people have right to assume what they want until the next episode proves them either right or wrong.

One thing I noticed in this episode and the previous one - we have "Ren decided to neve waver again", but wasn't his conclusion exactly the opposite when he was facing his father? Wasn't it something like "I'll waver, figure things out and move on"? Inconsistent narration pretty much?

Ren at the Tao household says : "I decide everything of my own volition and follow that path. Wether I trust people along the way or not, wether I get betrayed or not, it's the way I chose myself, I have no uncertainty (I shall not waver)"

Don't know what surprises me more. Ren being defeated by Mariachi dude or him actually opening up to Yoh's dad.

Good episode. Particularly looking forward to seeing Anna and Jun fight.

Despite saying to Yoh's dad that he wouldn't waver, he's letting his guard down against Peyote's team. He's out of the tournament but he can still fight Hao's enemies outside.

His biggest distraction is coming to face with the brother of Chrom, whom he killed.

I'm betting Horohoro's oversoul will somehow cryogenically preserve Tao Ren's body and it's Faust's medical skills that will bring him back to health.

A kick from Lee Pairon saves Mickey's teammates.

another good animation episode. and i don't care if the art will be low to get this. this episode was good in the action.
my only problem is the pace. it's seems they are taking too much time in some part in this episode. i understand that shaman king is more with battle than fists, but when you pace up the action, the talking feeling too much. i feel previous episode pace was much better.

another thing i loved, is the cliffhanger. finally good shounen cliffhanger, something this anime didn't had much.

i hope they won't show the girls vs girls battle much, from some reason it's not that interesting.
on the other hand, i'm wondering about makihisa's partners. they supposed to be strong, aren't they? i actually want to see that.
