Why did they have to do Sakura like that? Would have rather just had her die to her illness and everyone say their goodbyes and maybe share their love or a kiss last second or something, Ik she was gonna die tho as soon as you could see him sending the message which really sucked but then you go and have her some gruesome death, but I still loved the movie and it’s message aside from how they chose to kill her off.
Ps- Am now depressed

I liked that she died that way, if she died from her illness she'll just end up like any other heroine, knowing that she accepted it makes it less sad.. so I prefer her dying the way she did

thank you for this, it helps me accept the death more, as well it’s kind of funny I remember her saying something at the begging of the movie along the same lines about how you could go at any minute, hmm foreshadowing perhaps

I think the way she died is a real 4head death, because everyone thought she would die because of her cancer and that madr ut 10 times more randon and even kinda funny in my opinion

Her sudden death actually made the movie more impactful for me.

Wasn't that the point of the ending tho?

Her NOT getting the kiss, but reading the message that says more then any Kiss could - right before dying?

I liked the Ending, in the way that death is portrayed as sudden and unfair. I thought this was a good Shocker, followed by the flood of Tears that came when I reached the Diary-Scene.

I love how it made me feel to cherish more of what I had left, but then told me to cherish it even more because you may think you know when its going to disappear but if you dont be careful that spilled milk that was suppose to spoil next week that I had this morning wouldnt have to be wiped off the floor.
Hhhmmmmmm.......

A serial killer on the loose was hinted a couple of times throughout the movie (and even more times in the novel)...so the plot twist was not totally out of nowhere...but anyway it was precisely to subvert our expectations. I mean...people have already seen "Fault in our stars"...so it was quite shocking when the twist came.

I mean the killer was foreshadowed so I was preparing something with that killer. I personally like the ending, it's melancholic but it's still better compare to other cancer-patient plot that is very common on telenovelas and soap operas.

Not really a stupid plot twist because the serial killer was hinted at, and the twist actually made the movie a whole lot sadder for me. I had just accepted that she'd pass happily.

*I want to eat your pancreas* is one of my favourite romance movies even tho there wasn't a ongoing relationship within,it still had the nesesery romance tropes to classify it as so, sentimental, beautiful animation, with a very obvious observable character development now why they had to kill her that way I still don't know but,the main idea that makes you cry in this movie is that she got the text did she read it?no one knows and no one will ever.8/10

if she died bc of her illness the ending wouldn’t be that sad imo. she would probably know when she’ll die and be prepared so the plot twist made the show a lot more painful.

I saw the hints and when she was late I knew exactly where the story was going. Still thought the plot twist was kind of stupid and tried too hard to make the story a tearjerker.

i kinda liked it that way lol, it felt like we were also the characters who were close to sakura. we knew about her illness and we knew that she'd die from the beginning so we thought we'd see her dying moments in a hospital saying a few last words but no she suddenly got murdered out of nowhere. just like that. it was more "what the FUCK" something unexpected and really shocking i liked that a lot

Should've ended with the dolt MC finding and killing the perpetrator. Then he could've found redemption.

Hated the movie as it was.

Would have changed the whole tone of the movie and made it worse in my opinion if anything like that happened.

Another reason is most likely cos if she died normally she would’ve had time to say her goodbyes to everyone else as she would know roughly when she’s abt to die, but her abrupt death is a convenient plot twist as it means the guy is obliged to send her messages to them, therefore communicating with them and getting a step closer to friendship, something that Sakura always wished for him.

I never thought Sakura would be murdered. I think it’s Sakura’s old boyfriend that got mad and murdered her.
