 Adult Swim and Crunchyroll announced cast members for the Blade Runner: Black Lotus anime series on Wednesday. The anime is scheduled to premiere in 2021 with an English dub on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming block, and will stream with English subtitles on Crunchyroll. Cast Elle: Arisa Shida (Little Witch Academia (TV)) Joseph: Shinshuu Fuji (JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 5: Ougon no Kaze) Alani Davis: Takako Honda (Mashiro no Oto) Niander Wallace Sr.: Takaya Hashi (Enen no Shouboutai) Niander Wallace Jr: Takehito Koyasu (Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu) Marlowe: Taiten Kusunoki (Kingdom) Josephine Grant: Yoshiko Sakakibara (Akudama Drive) Earl Grant: Houchuu Ootsuka (Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2199) Doc Badger: Takayuki Kinba Senator Bannister: Masane Tsukayama (Fate/Zero) Doctor M: Akio Nojima (Kill la Kill) Hooper: Kazuki Yao (One Piece) Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex) and Shinji Aramaki (Ultraman) are helming the anime at Sola Digital Arts. Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop director, script) is credited as a creative producer. The Blade Runner franchise began with the 1982 film of the same name, directed by Ridley Scott (Alien) and loosely based on Philip K. Dick's 1968 novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?. Denis Villeneuve (Arrival) directed a sequel film—Blade Runner 2049—that premiered in 2017. | Didn't know this is actually a "anime" thought it would be a OVA like other series produced by western studios like Netflix and stuff. Either ways really love the Blade Runner movies and universe, so will def keep an eye out for this one. |
