Because there's popularity for it already manga readers hyped it up and the name alone is enough to get people interested and ofc people would complain when it looks so half-assed also there's no guarantee that I would find "amazing anime" by skipping this.

Its severely underwhelming and a complete injustice to the manga readers who love this story.

We thought it was just the promotional video, turns out that is indeed the animation they go through. That was really disappointing.

I only stayed because of the voice acting but it ruined the whole anime for me. I really liked the manga and it's a shame it got fucked over like this.

Cestvs the Roman Fighter really surprised us. I wanted to at least watch an episode to see if the comedy didn't lose it's value. People say the manga is great.

So, I saw this on someone’s post, and they posted about what the main animation director said. They said that the manga author wanted to keep it to this kind of ‘animation’. And it was kind of hard for them to do. But it lets people to admire the voice acting better.

I guess that's true, but that's the only good thing they truly did tbh, but having good visuals doesn't undermine good voice acting, so basically what I'm trying to say is that it's kind of a petty excuse to say that it was made that way intentionally to highlight the voice acting. Like if u think abt it that's just really dumb.

Firstly, the artstyle is good looking, but the animation is lackluster. That was deliberately done because the mangaka did not want an actual anime and wanted more a panel style animation, which has been done even in Prison School. I watched it because the concept sounds bonkers and I had a blast. Also Jonah Scott voices the protagonist in the dub so what can I say.

I don't get it, does it even matter it's really funny and that's all. The no animation thing is a bit bad at some times when there is too much dialogue but except that it's really fun to watch.

I went into it with this mentality but I watched the entire thing and at one point I laughed so hard it hurt.

I enjoyed it...

But I also have watched and played a lot of Yakuza stuff so it hilarious seeing this guy act in such a way.

I loved it.

Despite the issues with the animation, the show still made my had a good laugh (or maybeeee that’s just me with my shit humor)
