I don't really know, I'm definitely disappointed that they didn't get together, but I'm not outraged. I'm kind of used to the lack of LGBTQ+ representation in anime at this point, including representation that falls through and isn't really representation (characters called slurs, LGBTQ+ characters can't be together, die, etc.)

So we probably won't get a second season, but I won't complain if we do.

While the creators have not "officially" stated anything, the fandom wikis are correct most of the time. If you read down into the Sexuality and Relationships categories, that evidence is self sufficient.
On top of that, the official Cindereki audio drama was recently released, which is another clear sign.
Additionally, when someone commented on the official SK8 Instagram's post about the "wordless dap" saying that they would kiss, SK8 liked the comment and replied with 👀


By "canonically gay" I was simply referring to and restating the information from the videos and the information collected in general. I believe the things stated in the fandom wiki are most reliable:
Langa is shown to have a canon crush on Reki, it can be proven in episode 8th when being asked by his mom if he liked [Reki], asking by "person" if not Reki's name, and Langa affirmed with a blush while looking away in embarrassment.
As said in episode 8th, people implied that Langa crush on Reki was romantic, since Nanako asked Langa if he liked them in the romantic way, with the kanji "suki", which means "like".
After his mother asked if he liked Reki indirectly (by asking by "person" if not his name directly), Langa blushes at the question, and affirmed it while looking away from embarrassament. And when his mother say a "her" and he's confused as he repeat "her?"



You can choose to interpret this however you like, however it seems extremely obvious that Langa does in fact like Reki.
