Why the score is so low?

Because it's still rare to see this anime, due to the amazingly high-quality Winter 2021 lineup, as well as its relatively heavy idol stories compared to other idol animes (Idolmaster, Love Live, Wake Up Girls, Zombieland Saga, even with 22/7 too). Many controversial topics that are related to idols, like the relationship between idols and the media, or idols and the public, especially social media users, are discussed for a lot here, although of course we know all of these also have "two-faced", sometimes it can be antagonistic but then in other hand, it can be good for the industry and for everyone, especially for idols. These kinds of things might not be easily accepted by fans of the idol genre who are used to Love Live + Idolmaster. But I understand, Project Idoly Pride will never create fans; they will create a "managers community", from the players of its idol management RPG game.

If you compare the animation and the songs, Idoly Pride is better than many other idol anime. They really put high effort in it. But still it's not the "typical" idol anime Genre we know. Love Live, Re:Stage, Ochikobore, Lapis etc etc. they are different when it comes to plot.

You shouldn't tell whether an anime is good only looking the score from MAL. In the end we don't have a Shounen anime here, so the score is automatically lower anyway. I mean even Love Live with the biggest idol fanbase has a score of 7.4 only (SIP).

well, i think its a pretty accurate score, its still quite average right now. the story and characters aren't very interesting tbh

episode 1 gave me too much drama. Dropped it right there.

was not entertained at all.

Elitists bruh, they're everywhere
Many people don't have patience and they drop the anime just after watching 2 or 3 episodes. The same thing was happening with jaku chara in the beginning but at least it got some recognition later. I'm really sad for Idoly Pride.

I think is just ok lol I mean, it was enjoyable, but the story was very predictable, the characters weren't really that good nor uniques. But I mean, the quality of the animation was great and the music was nice too. I really wanted a story that actually shows us the difficulties of fame and hard work, but it ended being predictable and super unreal

Everyone has a different way of enjoying anime, you aren't superior for watching some kind or other

Looks like the rating has shot up significantly in the months following the season finale. The score went from 6.86 around the time you posted this, to 7.41 as of now.
