Season 2 or Prequel Film?

As I was thinking about the show as episode 12 hasn't aired yet I've thought this show has been really good definitely a gem of this season. But as I was pondering I was thinking about the chances of a season 2 now from the direction the story is going and as it is an original it may not get a second season and be a more "run and done" type deal. I then wondered more if there would be chances of something like a prequel movie of sorts that took a look at the world of Akudama Drive before the war or looked more into Kanto.

If it does get a sequel or prequel, I think it'll be in the form of a video game. Not sure how serious kodaka was but he did mention wanting to make a game based on the anime.

I think it's worth of a prequel about the Kanto-Kansai war

A prequel would be better imo just for the war. A sequel? Ehh after what they did to the MCs, I'll pass unless they pull something really amazing for ep12 that is worth a 2nd season.

Well its tookyo game that plan this anime, so i guess its not shocking that they want to make a a game. Character backstory is too vague. Halo, doctor gender, courier past etc. If ever there is a plot twist at the end of episode where all akudama's are living somewhere, then its worth s2. Or maybe even there's another universe. I dont watch danganronpa, dunno the pattern, but if they even killed the mc, i think there's no point to be interested anymore because someone who used to be the main focus in anime is gone. Every focus in the anime is gone, feels like it walking aimlessly.

If it is a sequel then they'll have to introduce new Akudama members.Remember the main characters are S Rank members. There may be more members in Akudama.

I dont think there will be chance for next season but i would like to see prequel of the season. For example how Cutthroat caught? or how interest on Swindler started? or what caused Kanto/Kansai war? An explaining background story of characters prequel would be good.

A sequel would be difficult to make. They'd have to introduce an almost entirely new cast, and they'd have to continue the story of brother and sister, which could be done, but I'd prefer them left as is.

There could be a prequel, but that seems rather unnecessary considering how little there'd be to work with for the characters and world.

The only other options would be spin offs, as a game could work, as well as other things, though frankly, I'm content with how the series ended, and would prefer if it were left alone

I can kinda see it, courier could potentially still be alive unlike the others we were shown them dead but someone could have come to his help etc not saying it happened but a possibility so they could bring in new cast and that executioner girl with the patch could turn into a akudama actually it could be her that saves courier etc and they could like still bring up the past akudama as they left a impact on the normal people etc, I can see a sequel in my head

I can see the executioner girl having a story, I can't see, or rather I'd prefer Courier to have not survived

I def could see courier still being alive and saved by eye patched girl. I would love to see that. Courier was so cold hearted and wanted to die. Keeping him alive with no one by his side again would make him change his character.

I also wouldn’t mind a back story of how everyone got to where were as Akudama.

The premise feels like a rushing prologue of something else to come and it only start to get interesting in the ending, but the show carries the Akudama name makes me believe there won't anything else then just about new Akudamas all over again if there's a sequel. But I'm interested enough to see what is there to offer.

A sequel would be hard to pull off I think, with the ending the show got. A new cast would be needed, and they would need to not be outshined by the original cast we got. The brother and sister plot would most likely be what is continued, and with the open ending that we got, it might be hard to pull, but not impossible.

Personally I would prefer a prequel, maybe of the war between Kansai and Kanto. We could learn more about how the Kansai functions as a society and also how Kanto got to be a full on digitized civilization. Who knows, if they really wanted, they could give some backstory/or hints of it, to the Akudama.

A prequel has more potential than a sequel I think.
