like it or not, they generate money in gacha games and music sales so...they do
as someone who went from liking to annoyed, personally i say no...but money wise yes. if fans will love watching the same (in this case, similar) story over and over again and not be tired of it, more power to them

I'm personally happy the Nijigasaki group got an anime. Especially after watching the first episode. Aqours has a lot of excellent songs too and their anime was great as well. And this comes from someone who is mainly a muse fan and collects Kotori figures.

Where'd you hear that people don't like Aqours lol? I love both, but I'm definitely more obsessed with Aqours and Sunshine in general. So I'm optimistic about the new series.

Well, it wasn't really supossed to happen (Nijigasaki Project was just for the smartphone game) but in the end producers saw the money and wanted the money, so now the anime happens.

I don't think it will be as great as the other two but I will love seeing the girls animated, specially because I love them so much.

Sunshine was literally a copy and paste of the original with new character designs and names. It was awful. Every character had the same personality as their counterpart in the original and the same shit happened. This new one is already a lot better

I am a muse fan, but personally I like sunshine better than the original overall. I really like the Nijigasaki girls, and the first ep looks really nice. So.. it's not a problem for me

I'm guessing this one will be like the other two series: two seasons plus a movie. At least the plot seems to be different, so I'm fine with that.

What's wrong with these people saying that Love Live needs to stop with these spinoffs? If you don't like the franchise just simply ignore and don't watch it. No need to be salty over a company that wants more money by milking these series 😒

More idols, more happiness 🤪

Love Live was good but after two seasons of it the show got repetitive so I hope this spinoff will turn out different.

Sunshine was not a Copy of SiP.
First of all, there is no 1 to 1 translation of the characters, even if there is a strong parallelism. But for example: Who is the Sunshine version of Nozomi? It is easy to say, that Nozomi and Eli are Dia and Mari. But you can't it put deeper. Is Riko the resemblance of Maki or of Umi? Chika is much more reliable than Honoka. And beside the fact, that they both take the comical part in the group, there is nothing in common between Nico and Yoshiko. Hence, when I watch the 2nd episode of Nijigasaki High School Club, there is more in common between Nico and Kasumi than between Nico and Yoshiko!

And second, it is elementary part of the story, that it looks like, there are things in common between both groups. Aqours tries hard to be like μ's and fails miserably in this try. They didn't even save her school.
In the end it needs Saint Snow (I think of them as member 11 and 12) for Aqours to realize, that they have to find her own way and that their try to copy μ's doesn't help anyone.

Very late, but you are very correct. Aqours having to move out of μ's shadow (both in universe and real life) was a key element of the story. Chika was inspired by μ's and took the school closing situation to become μ's 2.0. A lot of people get stuck on this, but they never realized that by the end of S1 Chika realizes that they need take their own path. At the time of writing this, the first day 2021, I can confidently say Aqours has long since left μ's shadow.

Many Sunshine/Aqours haters just keep repeating the same "copy and paste" narrative and it's painfully obvious they either had no attention span while watching, dropped it before finishing S1, or are just still bitter over the μ's/Aqours transition. At this point I just ignore them once I see the words "copy" or "rehash". What's sad is that after Fest, you had fans who only came for μ's and were forced to watch Aqours control the show. Some of them ended up writing to Aqours regretting not giving Aqours the time of day.

I think a majority of us think that Aquor's wasn't as great as M's. Do we really need another spinoff? This series definitely doesn't have the hype it did years ago.
Yeah aquours couldn't touch Mus.

But I'll keep watching Love Live spinoffs forever.
