| I'd like to mention the characters of this arc. Specifically Junko and the family on Zero's side because I haven't touched on them all that much. As for Junko, I am glad that she was given some quieter moments, long periods of silence and being shown in thought. It makes her feel more complex to simply see different sides of her, and it makes scenes like when she gets all over Zero, making him visibly and audible uncomfortable, far more effective. Zero was so cute and expressive that he reminded me of his part one self, somebody was able to do it.. As for the family, I was thinking that the mother and son were very simple characters. They didn't have many eccentricities, they were earnest and sweet people. However, we were able to see the sons past with his grandpa to make him more personable, and he was made especially cute. Further simply seeing the mother smile with the gang around her, it gives me the energy that she's really grateful that she has people willing to work this hard for her father. Now if she ends up actually being the one who held him hostage, that would be another direction for sure. Either way I wish for Fukumoto to write and draw more moms, I love his dads and grandpas, but his moms are always really really cute. |
