This purpose of this post is to provide updates on the new Kalafina single. If anyone has any new updates, please do share with everyone. I'm sure everyone will be eager to know about the single.

The release date is set on 28 October 2009. The tracks are:
1. progressive
2. うつくしさ (Utsukushisa)
3. progressive ~Instrumental~

The limited edition DVD will include the progressive PV and the live performances of love come down, Mata Kaze ga Tsuyokunatta and Ongaku.

Sony has released a preview of the song. You can hear it here: http://www.sonymusic.co.jp/?70005026_SECL-814&70005026_SECL-814_01SFL

The single cover art for both the normal and limited edition is also released. You can check it out here: http://ginoverture.wordpress.com/2009/09/25/kalafina-progressive-single-info/

EDIT: progressive PV is out.

(If anyone is good with html feel free to help me out. I suck at it)

Personally I feel the normal cover is nicer than the limited edition cover. Close up, it's abit too intense.

And when I heard the progressive clip, I thought it sounded like a Mizuki Nana song XD Though I'd say it's Sony's clip-cutting skills that are lacking as compared to the song itself. Because I have faith that Yuki Kajiura's songs will have a certain standard.

Personally, I don't like the stobe lights much (gives me a headache), but the song is rocking. Hikaru seems more beautiful than usual XD

After listening to full ver. I feel that this song's style... how should I describe... is like her soundtrack when the characters are in the dangerous positions.

It's a good song, but I wouldn't consider it one of my favorites. I'm glad Keiko gets a solo part in this one. She has a strong-enough voice that she can lead at least one song (hint hint, Miss Kajiura).

I agree with that one. I'm glad that KEIKO got a solo part.

Actually, I think that Keiko would have done better leading this song, because Hikaru's voice is... How do I put this... not particularly expressive in this particular track. She's done well with most of Kalafina's songs, but I think she could tone down more in rock because her voice is kind of high.

But then again, if Keiko is on the main vocals all the way through, the song would be quite hard to write because she sings alto, which limits her range. (Plus, she's super popular, which grates when I go to YouTube and see all the fanatic comments to her)

My favourite track in the entire single is actually progressive ~Instrumental~. The violin parts are very well-expressed, so much that when I listen carefully, I get thrown into an emotional rollercoaster ride. The violin sound ranges from threatening to longing. Yuki Kajiura, you've got great musicians T.T

I know it would be hard for KEIKO if she sings main because she's alto. I'm alto, too. I'm just glad that she got some solo part.
