I can honestly say I have never cared so little about a whole cast of characters. This was a shit show from start to finish with the only highlights being that one "sausage legs" comment and the meme of Tsukasa becoming a puking/drooling mess.

I think I liked this show so much because the characters were so bad and unpredictable. It made the show gritty and psychological.
Not everyone is smart under pressure, so I can agree with some things others find really annoying.
I ended up watching every episode a few times before the next, trying to catch surprised and missed things.
Definitely one of the animes I enjoyed every episode of and got into every little detail I could

10 out of 10. In my favorites now

Don't be petty if you don't like the animation.

I think this anime had the potential to be the most iconic in the year. But the design, pasing, and animation, hold them back. Sometimes they throw you a ton of info and the passing was too slow. It was kinda mediocre in a way

was about to drop it some weeks ago but I hung on and
wont complain more 'cause the ending got me excited and I'm glad i watched the whole thing.

Since Mal says the manga is only 5 volumes long, I thought this anime would cover the whole story. Based on the incomplete feeling the ending gave, I feel like there is still some content that is yet to be adapted. Now, I just hope we get a second season!

They actually adapted the entire story and the ending looks to be the same as in the manga (My Japanese still isn’t very good). Apparently though a sequel manga will be written so we might get to see a second season

Really? Then I feel a little better about the ending, it really felt like something had happened to the author and they never finished it. I will believe it when I see it though.

Anyway, this is the most 7.5 show I have ever seen. It would have been an 8 if Jin didn't randomly shoot Katsuragi a second before learning that he's her father. Maybe even if she just didn't continue to play along with her uncle in the end. If drama was the point here, it could have been executed way better. I guess that this is the sole reason why I'll give it a 7 in the end.

I guess in a way, it's still more memorable than most of the other shows of Winter 2020.

others have said already it's the same ending but there's a sequel manga about to come out soon.

someone is scanlating the manga from the beginning tho so you can read it and compare it with the anime.

By trash, I mean like... Not really a good human being and not being someone I would root for to live on. I didn't say they're badly written. Tsukasa is by far the most interesting.

I honestly knew from the start that this show would have a good interesting start but for some reason turn into a mess. Which it did. Seems like its hinting at a season 2 but I doubt it has any traction to gain one. Even if it does I'd skip on it.

Amazing. I was scared it was going to be a downer ending, but it ended on a somewhat hopeful note and we have news of a sequel. Tsukasa being a vegetable forever would have been depressing af

There was nothing wrong with that relationship it was... wholesome. Mentally challenged people deserve love too! Obviously this isn't you " typical " Society accepted relationship but she liked him at FIRST if that makes any difference and so did he! This was also written by a women btw if that makes a difference!!!

I hope this get a continuation even though I hear the manga ended the same way

Same thought here, though the ending had me thinking (because of Meiling's butterfly).

The butterfly gave me a pause too - but then I realized Meiling got her butterfly from Hayashi, and Hayashi's peak turned out to be a faithful copy of the real world place - hence the butterfly in the final scene is probs real as well.

Satoru couldn't even escape and walk without Hiroki's help. He also need to hypnotize Hiroki to make him think that Satoru is Tsukasa. Hiroki will ask why they want to bring Meiling along and would delay their escape further.

Hayashi got his peak from someone else's which he copied from. He thought it must be exists in real life and he found it.

Hayashi was the core of Tsukasa's peak. Hiroki erased Hayashi therefore his peak was no more and he got crushed.
The boss hypnotized Jin to think that Tsukasa is Long. If she think Long is gone, she will either attempt to suicide again or get crushed too.

i'm happy that i finished this anime, it wasn't great but it wasn't bad,it has an awful animation but a great story, and most importantly; unexpected developments, i loved too Tsukasa's psychiatric disorder, (it was really exciting watching him talking with himself about his plan), and i'm happy that the season didn't finish with him crashed, at least i know that he's alright or i was going to have depression.

It's just Jin's 'view' of Long. She's hypnotized.

Damn quite sad for Katsuragi, even though he was mostly an asshole he was just being mindcontrolled as a puppet for The Company
Quite the open end, wonder if they will release a second season
I feel like the concept for this anime was good, but execution was bit poor. The animation wasn't the best and even felt terrible at times, the plot bit too confusing at times especially at the first four episodes and a some unlikeable characters even though there aren't supposed to be any good guys.
Still pretty enjoyable watch, quite an unique one too which is always a plus given how some anime are following the same formula which can get boring

I don't get why people hate all the characters - I honestly wanted Satoru and Hayashi to be okay, they weren't bad people. Even Katsuragi was endearing.

Regardless, I loved it, I hope Imuri or the sequel manga get anime, too, even though y'all will hate it just the same...

Katsuragi always had something to him. He was just too scummy to be just scummy. The only question left was what was behind the manipulated memories. And yeah, that was really sad. Just as sad as Tsukasa's fate. And all the others.

Other shows shock through the loss of life. This show shocks through the loss of memory. Reminds me heavily of a death poem saying life is but a dream inside a dream. Honestly, Katsuragi might be dead for good Tsukasa's is not that that different rgiht now.

The ending was beautiful but I do not get it totally. So seeing this scenery of the original peak giver gives all users their original mindset back? If its like that, I would want to see the plays they had to make in the next season.

I like the character design in this how everybody is flawed and does not just play to a certain clischee. Tsukasa's arrogance lead him to misstake after misstake and he was filled with regret. Hayashi underestimated the moves of the company and payed a heavy price. Hiroki acted like an almost perfect pawn to the very end and Satoru did so as well, though he took some initiative in the end. Man, I guess I have to reflect on this some more and let it sink.

7/10 anime. With a very weak to weak first half but it gained much more momentum and fit eprfectl towards the end.

Thank God i binge-watched this coz i probably won't get the story much and drop this halfway.

I think the concept is very unique and the flow of the story is very appealing. I get that the first half is very weak because most of it are character introduction and their jobs. But the ending gives me the feels.

I think that the characters are very well-made ( except their character design lol)
But how they are all have their flaws.

Hayashi-san saved them but also made their life miserable because of the ties with the company. He meant well but things are messed up. Still sad for him :( i need a fanart where they all live together.

Tsukasa is eaten by his envy that cause him wrong decisions that leads to worst ending. I still feel bad for him.

Hikori is always whining at first and looks like a brat. But he stands up for his beliefs against tsukasa even if he is his peak giver.

Satoru looks like an indecisive and too dependent on hayashi but in the end makes the best decision. I really like his optimistic attitude.

AND NOW LETS HOPE FOR SEASON 2!!!

The manga is pretty much identical to the anime, so you really won’t get any more out of reading it than you did from the show. The main purpose for even turning this into an anime at this point (the series concluded 10 years ago) is because a sequel called “Fish” is planned to start serialization in the winter. Your best bet would probably be to start reading from there once it starts because a second season really doesn’t seem likely, and if it does happen, it will be quite a few years out. But given the situation of the animation studio and the fact that this was picked up more as an advert for the upcoming manga, I highly doubt there will be a second season.

I just watched episode 13 and man it was such a plot twist! Tho I was so confused I still enjoyed the anime and managed to finish it until the end. Judging from the ending I doubt there'll be season 2 but still Geno made a good job with the ending. Conclusion; I'M GLAD I WATCHED THIS ANIME!

Basically the real plot started after Hayashi x Tsukasa.

Man i HYPED when i saw Long with a hole in the middle of forehead! YES!

Sadly the old man was not killed too, so that mafia is still working. At least i think they cant use this power anymore, since Long and Katsuragi was killed, and Jin become disabled.

Feel bad for meimei, but it is subject of the possible continuation of the Manga.

Tsukasa had the right end, and Satoru and Hiroki, the orphan pets, finally got free.

It should be 8/10, but the flaws in the art was anoying, so 7/10 is fair.

I thought this show was confusing at the best of times, but it was nice to have some sort of closure - I wish the ending could have gone better for the characters. I hated how psycho Tsukasa was becoming but when Hayashi’s letter explained the whole brain washing thing, I could tell he was feeling so messed up and didn’t deserve a bad ending :( as for Satoru, I’m happy he managed to escape, he was one of the characters who never annoyed me at all through the whole show! Hiroki deserved to stand alone by himself too, I’m glad Satoru mastered the hidden memories for him! As for Hayashi - I feel so bad dude, this ep really has ALL the feels! Including Jin, LianLian and Katsuragi! I never thought Katsuragi of all people would make me cry! I do find the relationship a bit weird, I thought they said Hayashi ‘fixed’ Jin’s mum? I guess that came after her fling with Katsuragi..anyway yes, Jin is giving me villain vibes right now and I’d like to know which direction she’s taking this in - I want Tsukasa to somehow regain his memories though, or create happy ones with Jin or find Hiroki so he can share his peak with him .. they deserve better :( good anime though! Glad I watched it , despite the confusion lol

This is a perfect ending and good anime for me, I can understand the whole story. I was shocked by tsukasa I thought he was the protagonist but he turned out to be a manipulative villain. one thing I don't like about this anime is the 'kinda gay' vibe, it's weird because isn't about romance, but that's okay. I don't understand why this anime only has 6.46 score
