THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

Minami finished the way she did because she always has annoying people around her during her club activities, it becomes too obvious that she is annoyed with their asses to the judges.

She finished 5th? How terrible, you know because there were probably only about 6 people participating in the event obviously.

I'm actually starting to dislike how the main characters in Touch are basically the elite, it's like how that other girl said even if Minami doesn't try as hard she still gets into the top 5.

I swear, the mangaka/anime team wanted me to dislike Tatsuya. Even when he tries to do something for Minami, he fails - like in this episode when he wasn't there for her. He could, for once, have put Minami first... but instead he allowed himself to be delayed and missed all of her performance.

Not sure what Minami meant about going to the Inter-High... wouldn't doing that conflict with her dream of being taken to the Kou-whatever? I say again: it'll be REALLY lame if the main two end up not cheering on each other because of their own reasons. Without Minami, what's the point of Tatsuya even going all the way? The whole 'dream' thing is what makes the baseball side interesting, and without Minami there Tatsuya vs. Nitta would be boring...

I thought this episode was good, and I don't think it's Tacchan's fault that Minami lost. Hell, how the hell can he get to the tournament without a bus ? The bus coincidentally broke down when he wanted to visit Minami. But Yuka still needs to die pls.

She's not that bad, just in love with Tatsuya too.

Alright episode, kind of in a slump right now.

So, if Tatsuya blew off the practice match to cheer her on, do you think Minami would have appreciated that? The Same Minami who begged him to take her to the Koushien?

I mean, if the only flaw in his character this episode is that he waited for someone else to change instead of running off as fast as he could, how much can you actually dislike him? Sure, he waited for Yuka, but is Yuka so worthless that ditching her is the right thing to do? Maybe Minami is the one he loves, but that doesn't give him a license to be a douche to everyone else, now does it?

So if he wasn't going to blow off the whole baseball team, and he wasn't even going to blow off Yuka, then when exactly should he have been there for Minami? She's important, but I can't find any point where he made the wrong decision. If this is enough to make you dislike a character, then I'm truly afraid to see how I stack up!

It's so sad that Minami lost because she was too worried about a silly practice game, which was only a bad joke in the end, to pay proper attention to her own competition. But at least Kusaka said the truth to her face for a second time, she saw how hard Nitta was trying, and now she FINALLY has commitment to her own sport, and even Tacchan is truly rooting for her now. Better late than never. And I like how the baseball team complained between them about that demon coach, and his sadistic idea of making them go through that game, even though there was a fool on his side.

Yuka annoyed me a bit but I guess everything goes in love and war. Minami realised her half-hearted work and hopefully is going all out now. Mad respect to Nitta in that short scene, going into beast mode training

It is kind of sad. Tacchan pretty much dumped his two middle school mates for Koutarou as well. That's life I suppose, everyone finds their own level.

Then again, we do see him practicing to the point of exhaustion pretty much every minute of free time he has so you can't really begrudge him his success.

And it's not like Minami was bumming around sleeping and spying on the boys' changing room during practice like Tacchan used to. She was working flat out trying to balance two workloads at once. Their rise to the top of their respective games was unrealistically swift, but it was hardly effortless.

Yuka's insufferable.

Minami has to do her best if she really wants to be a successful gymnast, no half-heartedness. I think now that Kusaka tasted failure she's gonna try even harder as she progresses.

Nitta was doing some real practice unlike Meisei doing manual labor under a clown demon.

Am I the only one fed up with all this gymnastic stuff? The baseball stuff already has slow progression and now they have gymnastic competition going alongside it?
