Volume 2 is now done and it's time for Shokuhou to shine. And damn, she really did shine like as star.

For me, this was centered around Shokuhou's development and her relationship with Misaka. They set aside their differences to fight a common enemy and it looks like those differences will vanish after this Level 5 team up. Who knows, they might become friends after this who's fighting for Kamijou's affection. Rivals in love. I really enjoyed Shokuhou in this volume. You gotta love her dedication to Touma. She love him so much that she used herself to buy him some time to escape and she helped Misaka because she knows he will be sad if he finds out. She's the only girl in this series who has done that consistently. She's always there for him whenever he's in trouble and she's stronger whenever he's around her. Even though they failed to save him and the opposite happened, she's still happy that he was there for him, despite not remembering her. And the way Kamijou held the whistle, the gift Shokuhou gave to him, despite not anything about it, feeling that it makes him stronger and fight, really gives me hope that one day he will remember her and finally be together without any barriers blocking him. His memories of her aren't gone, it's inside of him, locked away, waiting for a key to unlock it and I believe one day that that key will be in his grasp. Shokuhou is best girl and you can't deny that. And I love her for what she is.

This volume was really exciting and interesting. Fanservice was really fun and the comedy is great whenever Aogami is around and then the usual mood change. Aihana was a bit out of place there but at least we gained more information about him(?). He's(?) aware of the magic side and he(?) has a way to unlock those memories regarding Shokuhou. Accelerator also appeared at the end talking with Anna and her plans. And we have the two Level 5s continuing their team up.

One of the best volumes of Index overall imo. And the R&C Occultics arc continues.

Okaaay, a lot of things happened in this Volume!
Shokuhou and Sisters giving Touma some fan-service, #3 & #5 fighting Anna, Touma meeting #6 Aihana Etsu (finally we got to see the Real #6) and Touma/St.Germain VS Anna.

We once again saw the difference between powerful esper and magician and how important is to know how your enemy's powers work. Misaka and Shokuhou both got destroyed by Anna and in the end agreed to both become stronger, so the next time they can be the one's to protect.

Aihana Etsu finally appeared in front of our MC and reluctantly offered him his power. Touma of course declined and went on to fight Anna by himself(+St.Germain). Having Touma dual wield both magic and Imagine Breaker was unexpected suprise, but a welcomed one.

And Anna ended up in same prison as our Board Chairman Accelerator acting like its all part of her plan...

Pretty enjoyable and action packed volume (despite chapter 1 being more of a comedy/fanservice). Cant wait for more!

It really seems like Aogami may just be Aihana Etsu considering how Aogami was also in the hospital LMAO. I wouldn't be surprised.

tbf, the most powerful beings shown in toaru so far were the true gremlin magic gods at their prime. Makes me wonder if the since side will ever gonna reach that level, but I doubt it's gonna be purely scientific tbh.
