The first episode looks promising. It is possible that this anime will be one of the best from 2020. Still main character is usual overexcited and wants to change things . This is sort of survival of human being kind of anime . Just watch 1st episode then think if you still want to follow rest of the series.

If this is going to be the best of 2020 then damn, I really wish I can scrub 2020 from my mind.

The show is just a mish-mash of different ideas, and a mish-mash of genres. The visuals are nice, but things such as the monster designs contrast heavily with the steampunk fortress, which contrasts with the sci-fi weapons and normal vehicles.

The animation is good though, which is nice, but who knows how it'll end up in 8 episodes time. The sound is also pretty good but not too unique, much like the characters who are already walking tropes. The story so far sucks, the exposition has been pretty poor and some scenes seemed completely disconnected from others.

In short, this anime probably won't amount to much more than a simple, yeah it was pretty good imo. Certainly not anime of the year quality.

It certainly looks strong - compared to other stuff this season. Well ... it's summer and summer is usually weak. Besides from stuff that got delayd (1-2 episodes already aired 1-2 seasons ago) and sequels (2 or so I'm waiting for) not much new and interesting stuff.

We can't know here - until it is finished. Looks promising but they might (not if it gets 2-cour for 1-cour more likely) rush it or ruin it at the end. (Which happaned at Darling at the Franxx - similar setup with people on some mobile fortress with bad end and them trying too hard for a too sophisticated plot.)

Episode 1 looked a lot more promising though - compared to Darling in the Franxx.
