Not bad overall narration although I would have given four slaps to the irresponsible Mio.
The narrative should perhaps stop for a moment on this situation that had arisen after the mini live, to study better the psyche of the three protagonists, just to not make this an unnecessary brackets.
Plot that moves forward without any twist, what a pity!
I would have preferred that P-san was a little harder with Mio and somehow Uzuki praised for the way it has dealt with commendable solution; because she though perhaps the least gifted of the three, has demonstrated its passion in becoming a true Idol.
Drawings and animations good, although what struck me most is the scenery made very well.

Good episode. Not great, but good.

What is Mika doing hanging around? She's already a star...

I-Is that an episode not focused on the trio I see!? Maybe, just maybe, the rest of the series will be enjoyable.

Definitely a redeeming episode, it took what could have been a worse case scenario for my enjoyment of this iM@S entry and flipped it around. I feel much better finishing this episode than I did the last one. I had always found Producer to be lacking in communication skills so I'm glad they addressed that and didn't pin it all on Mio being emotional. Rin laid down some real talk this episode and now I see why she's so popular.

The message was really nice too. That it wasn't about about quantity of audience but rather quality of their smiles. It seems like smiles are a core theme in this show and this episode managed to make me end it on one myself.

The first thing I have to say is... I wish people would stop trying to get Producer-san arrested...

I also got curious and started wondering how each series would've gone if the Producers were swapped...

Regardless, I'm glad everything got settled... Though I'm also wondering how they intend to alter our stoic Producer-san... I can't help but be curious...

I like the drama and all (how both sides, the girls and producer, were at the wrong in their own way and they all make up for it). But from a business perspective, I feel this was very unprofessional on how the girls reacted (even if they were novice). I know that those girls were kinda new at those things and I have actually felt their pain (on what each was going through) and was touched/relieved by it all in the end, but seriously. Like in reality, I don't think the businesses world isn't that forgiving or I would have easier time and had development like this.

Producer stepped up and handled the situation very well. He was pretty much lost on what to do, then Rin has a conversation with him in the office. Not knowing who to trust, escaping the situation.

The make up scene with Rin was nicely done. Producer offering his hand to Rin, he can't let his princesses down. As for Mio, she failed to realize being an idol isn't just about having huge audiences. It's also about making people smile. Basic Idol 101.

I didn't really notice this in previous episodes, but the Cinderella metaphors are somewhat heavy-handed. I understand that's it's not a happy scenario. After all, the color saturation's toned down, everything darkened, and there's somber instrumental music playing all the way through. Still, none of this is feels warranted. I see the energy and enthusiasm of the characters. That's obvious from previous episodes.

However, I what I don't see is the drive behind it all. Why are the characters involved in the idol business to begin with? Why is this moment so traumatizing? I don't need something grand or deep as some tragic backstory, I just want a reason for why this was so heavy. It felt like everyone was in mourning over a character I can only guess they've known for a couple weeks at best. And Mio, from what I could tell, was addicted to the adrenaline rush of being on stage, and by not having that satisfied, in addition to promising too much to her friends, was enough to go into shock.

Besides that, I'm sure there's a story behind the Cinderella theme. They've also made that obvious by the whole enchanting feel of everything, on top of the fleeing dream-like fantasy giving way to the mundane. This, along with the characters' motivations, will probably be touched on in future episodes, but for now, I'm not buying into neither the comedic character gimmicks nor the drama. I'm at least thankful that it was solved within one episode, but I suppose the short lead-up and conclusion is another concern.

Producer = Prince Charming this episode even though he got mistaken for a pervert yet again.

Uzuki was really sweet this episode. Finally something other than "Ganbarimasu"
Rin's so fiery when angry. Glad that drama is over.

Producer is so cute and cool? I think I am a little obsessed with him now. When he smiled, also when he used casual speech asdghjkl.Love.
That was one of the better episode. Usami really is cute, loved her moments with producer.

I don't really like this producer. He had some savage moments, but his lack of personality is really boring. I hope this is just him being inexperienced as a producer, but I doubt it.

God, I love Producer, the poor man doesn't deserve this, he even kept asking the other girls how they felt about the mini concert worried that maybe he fucked up organizing it, but don't worry man, it's just Mio being ungrateful.

I honestly found interesting this drama, for what I have seen so far idol anime tend to make the characters as likeable as possible (and I'm totally fine with that), with the "it will be hard but I will reach my dream!" objective of the girls, and if someone quits it's mostly due to a bad experience or their current situation (like Chihaya in the main Idolmaster), but nope, in this one Mio was just a bitch who refused to accept that her first concert taking the lead barely had people outside of family and friends, and they didn't try to redeem her at all for that, and tbh that was pretty cool as well.

That doesn't change the fact that she basically sealed the deal for worst girl spot tho.

This (Idolmaster Cinderella Girls anime ep 1-7) is the first Idolmaster I enjoyed ever. I've never played the game, nor watched the first anime (Idolmaster anime), nor read any official material, but I enjoyed it so far. I heard some of you said there are cameos in the episodes. May I ask what are the cameos and from which media (the game, or the previous anime, or both, or other medias? I start to like the series and I want to like it more. Thanks.

"Im a failure as a leader".no shit Sherlork
-ruined the mood of the event
-almost destroyed their newly established unit

For the love of god why did they make her the leader? Uzuki would have fit the role so much better.

The saving grace of this episode was good girl Uzuki and best girl Producer.

I'm happy they made up. Everything is back to normal.

Nice character development for the producer, Mio, and Rin.

Well.. Manager did say to producer.. That it might be a breaking project.. Both for girls.. And for producer.. Wonder, if maybe in the past producer didn't manage to get along with his groups as well.. Or something like that happened.. Like some problem with producer.. It seems that maybe that was the case.. With what manager said..
Certainly something happened with producer in the past, it seems..
Yeah.. And now manager tells the story to everyone.. Without any specifics.. Giving hint that something went wrong, and he couldn't get through it with the group in the past..

For me, this episode is spectacular, the best so far.

The direction is incredible: during the first half of the episode it has a fast pace that makes you feel the tension of everything going downhill while the producer's attitude just increases the discomfort.

Girls go away one by one and everything is shrouded in an aura of impotence.

All the wide shots intensify the feeling that everything is lost and the rain generates a gloomy mood as well as justifying Shimamu's absence. But it all comes together when the journalist tells the girls about the producer's past and connects the premise of the story to him, even when it seemed like it would only apply to the girls.

The pace changes again, now it's slow and the focus is now on the producer. The camera is following him and his fears. Now Shimamu tells him something that makes him remember his motivations: cinderellas' smiles.

Producer-san runs to Mio's house and gets caught by the police. The drama is the new protagonist and the rythm decreases. Speeches are focused and everything leads to closer shots and details. She's now almost transparent and finally rain stops.

The rest is just the conclusion. Mio regrets her mistake and Producer-san assures Shiburin that he will keep his word.

Magnificent and really well directed. Almost like a crescendo.
