Is it just me, or did the colour palette get a tad warmer during that moment Rikuo was assertive towards Shinako?

oh man Haru my girl not like this.

I actually understand Rikuo's approach, he's definitely more of the "waiting for confirmation before striking" type of guy and it definitely has its own merits and flaws

I kinda hope for Uozumi and Shinako to be together, but damn this man. He's so passive and clumsy that makes me super uncomfortable. He should be more assertive and try harder with Shinako, she's basically begging for a more direct approach and she's willing to accept have something romantic and sexual with him, but he's like a teenager completely clueless about what to do. Is a bit painful to watch this, but well, let's see.

I really like this week's episode, things finaly starting to move between Shinako and Rikuo. Maybe it's an unpopular opinion but I like how Rikuo's character stay the same, but is still trying to improve. When he gave the present, I though he was going to run away, same at Shinako's house, but even if it's a little, he did manage to do some stuff, and it's great as it's consistant with his character. I hope he'll be more and more "assertive" in the futur.

At first, I didn't really like how Shinako acted even though I can understand it a little, but she's improving too as a character, even faster than Rikuo. She still can totally move forward as she was shivering but I loved how she's honest with him and how she's letting him know what she wants and what she feels.

Haru on the other end... Not much development for now. She's still clingy, she's still stalking him, she's still getting hurt... It's hard to watch, because on one end, she's pushing for an unrequited love, Rikuo letting her know at his manner that she needs to stop it, on the other end, she truly loves him and can't really do anything else if she wants to see him and spend time with him. I wish she let him go, but love is hard. Maybe with the last scene, we'll be getting development with Haru.

I don't mind this new ending, but I was starting to really love Sayuri's one (As I love Sayuri), I was even starting to sing before the new one appears out of nowhere.

Bruh... the sexual tension... or just romantic tension. Whatever that was was killing me. I was going to be so upset with the main character if he didn't take a chance when she's been asking for him to be more assertive. Also a new ED was interesting.

3 POINTS FOR SHINAKO!
Finally! Shinako is ready to move forward and realized that "there's more than one feeling of loving someone." Shinako spent Christmas with Rikuo. Shinako got a gift from Rikuo. Shinako spent New Year's Eve with Rikuo. And Shinako was voluntarily hugged by Rikuo, not forced. The first kiss is really not gonna happen this episode since Rikuo understood that Shinako is taking it slowly.

On the other hand, another negative points for Haru. Once again, Rikuo told Haru that: "you need to stop doing this." I guess will see more of Haru next episode. It looks like she's in trouble or something (like a stalker) and Rikuo will come to help her.

And that new ED is incredibly good! The art is really awesome!

Still can't stand Shinako, at all, LOL. What was her deal on the phone? First she monologues about Rikuo not calling her, and when he did, she seemed disappointed and made it awkward?? For real, what is Rikuo supposed to do if she keeps giving such mixed signals? First she rejects him, then complains about him not being more pushy, and when he does take action she gives him strange reactions, and then she tells him again that he needs to be more assertive. Let's not forget that time she cucked him real good when she first invited him to her apartment either. I seriously don't understand what she wants. But the one thing I do know is that I absolutely can't stand her. Always expecting Rikuo to take action when she puts next to no effort into the whole deal herself. He said it too on the phone- she didn't call him either, why??

Rikuo is seriously far too good for her, I just really really hope they won't end up together.

“Growing up means you end up with things you need to protect. That’s just how it is.”

This anime never ceases to amaze me, and this episode was no different! I love that dose of realism Kyouko offered, the notion that things don’t always work out in your favour. People who love each other don’t always end up together. And if that message is any indication of the future plot, then I’m all the more invested!

One of the most unique aspects of this anime which I adore is that for especially important scenes, the characters say absolutely nothing, there’s no background music... and for a few seconds, it’s completely quiet!
It happened this episode when Rikuo held Shinako, and the scene felt even more impactful because of it.

Now about Haru. The relationship between Haru and Rikuo is progressing slowly but surely and the biggest hint of that was the comparison with episodes past.
The first time Haru brought over bagels, he only walked her home, but this time Rikuo told her to come inside. Also, the way they framed the atmosphere really makes it clear that Rikuo feels very comfortable with Haru. Their conversation outside his house felt very organic and easy. It’s different with Shinako, as he mentioned at the end of the episode about their comfort zone. Rikuo also seems conflicted about advancing further with Shinako because of Haru. It’s a complicated but really engaging web of relationships. It also looks as if Haru called him at the end, so there’s likely further developments on that front. I’m still really looking forward to Haru’s family situation and her happy facade being addressed.

Now about Shinako and Rikuo. Looks like Shinako is finally ready to move on, albeit slowly. There’s the date, then the invitation to her house, but even Rikuo openly admits that the tension in the room (ie. the atmosphere) is awkward to say the least. Both of them harbor romantic feelings for one another, but as they both acknowledged, neither are being particularly assertive.
For viewers unable to put up with their slow progression, it’d be undoubtedly frustrating to watch, but I found this awkward exchange of words a lot more in line with their characters’ quirks, which I liked.

It’ll be interesting to see how Rikuo moves forward next episode on both the Shinako and Haru fronts. Can’t wait for next week’s advancements!

I know this series is a slow burn but JFC, I hope something happens soon. Rikuo keeps going to Shinako then lets Haru inside his apartment but ignores her until she leaves. As annoying as Haru is, I hope she finds happiness with someone other than Rikuo. All these characters need to sort out their shit before going into a relationship with anyone and fucking up the other person's life in the process.

Haru reminds me of my old self; self-sacrificing for love, when that's not fruitious, just self-sacrificing for attention will do. It's painful to watch and if my experience applies, Haru would always end up getting hurt. Though the blame should never be to Rikuo for not accepting her. He's just in love with somebody else. You can't really force people to like you back. She's better off allocating her love energy to something she's passionate about, unless a plot-twist can save her.

We're always spoiled about how a date would happen, especially when we watch a rom-com or a chick-flick, but this episode really knows how to portray an organic date. I like how awkward their first date is. From having second doubts, to being indecisive on the phone but once all of that is said and done, Shinako and Rikuo just click and become old college buddies again.

We finally stopped being blue-balled 10 episodes in and the results are outstanding. I couldn't contain myself shouting profanities as pieces finally move right where it needs to be. Another great episode, another long wait.

Ty for the wallpaper.

I liked a lot of this episode.

I'm a bit worried about Haru, She's is being obsessive and it's hurting her. Rikuo isn't even entertaining her anymore, she doesn't have much reason to see him anymore. I like that Rikuo is firm in rejecting her and didn't walk her home this time. I respect his character. I really hope Haru is able to move on properly.

Shirnako is growing on me, A lot of comments are saying My boy Rikuo is being too passive, but her lips were quivering when she thought he would kiss her. She has no idea what she wants, and wants it to be decided for her for the easy route. Rikuo giving her the present was already pushing it without making for an obnoxious relationship. He had a perfect reaction to all this given his personality in relation to the situation.

Let me start by saying, im a #TeamHaru but please STOP IT. Rikou already said in your face to stop doing such things. Its hard for him seeing Haru doing such things because in the end it will just hurt both of them.

To Rikou, i admire the straightforwardness he have when he tell Haru to stop. Its hurtful to say but we need to tell the truth. Nothing will be gain by lying to your feelings..

And Shinako- FINALLY!! she decide to move on. Yup. Its right time.. and i like when she says SLOWLY.. for me thats the best way of moving on. Taking it slowly...

Great episode... Love it.

Finally some actual progress with Shinako! I'm still on team Haru, but I'm much less frustrated with Shinako at least. Still, I really can't get behind Rikuo and Shinako. All of their interactions are still pretty awkward and a bit frustrating for me. It seems to me that they’re both still completely unsure of what they actually want. While Haru and Rikuo seem to have some genuine chemistry and energy in their interactions. Plus Haru is pretty clear with what she wants.

Wow, I completely agree with this. Seems like the characters have a sense of nostalgia and romanticism attached to their feelings for each other. Whereas the chemistry between Rikuo and Haru is pure and visceral.

I like how Rikuo was honest about how he got the gift. I mean, being honest ended up making it even more special to Shinako since it didn't matter how he got it, just that it was the first one he gave to a girl. Their current situation is cute, awkward and frustrating at the same time, but I don't feel annoyed by it. And Shinako, even if slowly, is really moving forward. At least she realized that she doesn't have to feel exactly what she felt before to fall in love again. She is never going to feel the same way, and it doesn't mean that a new love is going to be lesser or a lie, just different. And it isn't right to push yourself into someone so Rikuo isn't wrong to take things as slowly as Shinako either, but it seems she needs him to take the initiative and it felt good to see him hugging her in that moment. That felt right. I still feel kind of bad for Haru, but I still think that it's sad for her to keep making efforts to see him, especially now that he was as honest as possible with her, and already asked twice for her to stop doing this. He didn't even walk her home this time. I can't blame her for not giving up, but he already knows how she feels so there's not much else she can do right now. And we didn't even get a glimpse of Rou. lol And I like the new ED, still not as good or poignant as the first one, buI liked it more than the second.

I really liked this anime at first but I'm kinda disappointed; nothing really happens in each episode, the characters haven't been fleshed out very well and the dedication that Haru has to Rikuo makes no sense. I get that she likes him but they haven't known each other long enough or well enough for her to be so attached to him.

In recent episodes, the narrative rhythm has become so peaceful that a funeral is much more cheerful as a context, perhaps it will be the most reasoned choice, but I would like a bit of panache in the love affairs of Haru and his companions. The most striking and important thing is Morinome's changed perspective vision which opens the way to a new narrative way, who knows where it will lead. The twist at the end makes me a little curious. Ah! What a pity that they changed the ending, but I was also a little surprised, even if I imagined that sooner or later the ending would have changed it, if the conditions regarding the plot had changed. I like it, but not as much as I would like the new ending. I hope there is more space for Haru, I have been saying this for weeks, but unfortunately this moment never comes, what a pity!

Things might be slow, but that type of progression is still important. Rikuo and Shinako are slowly making progress between each other. The awkwardness is strong and they both felt that way a lot, but I am happy that those two are trying to shrug off that awkwardness and become more comfortable around each other.

It did surprise me when Rikuo went in and hugged Shinako almost out of the blue, but I'm glad he did it at all. He might be a bit on the passive side, but Rikuo didn't put a foot wrong, so that makes me happy. =)

As for Haru, I still have sympathy for her. It's nice to see her getting along with her parents more now, but she still isn't giving up on Rikuo. Their time together was sweet, but it was still tinged with that feeling of sadness. With how the episode ended, with Haru hearing a "thud"at her apartment and then Rikuo getting a phone call and having a shocked face when he answered it, I wonder what will happen next time.

Either way, this episode was really enjoyable. I wasn't expecting another ED to appear so soon, but this 3rd ED was pretty good. Nice visuals of the main cast, too. =)

Yeah, I was like okay them ending up together, it seems to be destiny, but this much hitting around the bush is not a good sign.

On the other hand Haru is clearly in the wrong too, just leave the damn man alone. She wouldn't be cute AF, Rikuo would've called the cops several times now. You know, like what's the difference between flirting and harassment? It is harassment if you are ugly.
Still, of course I would forgive anything to Haru :P

But welll, it is a romance anime, they have to fill the 18 ep somehow. Currently it is a bit like that romance anme I watched a long time ago, where they had those lockets. It has never ever progressed a single step forward.
But now finally idk whatever is happening, but something is (I am gonna have nightmares about it :D ).

I know a lot of people don’t like that this doesn’t have an OP, but I actually really like that. It takes away the “anime-y” feel and just lets you dive into the story a if it’s just a scene change from ep to ep. Good direction choice imo

I’m just looking for a Haru in a world full of Shinako’s , have to protecc https://imgur.com/a/hytB6Pq

Shinako and Uozumi may seem cute on the outside, but tbh the awkwardness between them isn’t conducive to a healthy relationship and is pretty uncomfortable to watch. It’s like they’re in love with the idea of each other rather than the actual person.

On the other hand, when he’s with Haru, it’s a much more organic, fun and lively situation. You shouldn’t have to plan your every action and reaction when hanging out with someone.

Love the ED for this ep! Can’t wait for next week

YESSSSS, as a brazilian girl, it's very strange to me watch all these platonic relationships, the way they invests themselves into a thing that may be going anywhere, the effort to reach somebody you don't even know for real, you just imagine that could be nice... so strange. I think that neither Shinako or Rikou are ready to start a romance. A love them both, they look cute together, but it IS unconfortable to watch their weird interaction. For me, sometimes it seems that Shinako is just USING him for her personal interests, but do not really like him.
Like, she may think that he's fine, ok, but not that she sees something special, or unique in this guy. For her he's just the guy that happens to be there and confessed to her, and now she's closer to him just cause it is the most easy to do, easier than going out and find somebody else.

I also think the behavior that Haru is developing isn't healthy too, but somehow I simpathize more with her that anybody. She looks more authentic

Such a confusing and amazing episode.
At first sight it looks like Shinako's thing is stepping fordward, but Im not completely sure about it. The awkward feeling and forcing moment are too heavy with these couple.

In other hands, when Shinako said about if Uozumi isn't assertive because of Haru, he made a face of amazement...

Guessing what happened in the end of the episode. I think that something happened to a Haru's parent and she called Uozumi for help.

That dramatic slow down I thought he was gonna kiss her but of course not... honestly the whole Rikuo and Shinako plotline is just way too slow, boring and repetitive at this point, don't get me wrong I love tension and slow burn but this is not slow burn this is just slow without any burn. I see the tiny progress but I just really don't even care anymore I lost my patience. I'm curious about what happened with Haru and if she was the one who called Rikuo at the end.

I am so happy to finally more development between Shinako and Rikou!

I am seriously wondering if they are going to pull out a 5 centimeters per second on us. Because it seems to me that Shinako is trying to relive her past in college when she loved Rikou but she is finding it hard to start a spark between them. AShe might just face the fact that she can't relive the past, she doesn't love him anymore, and then she might move on.

Also, I don't like the new ed. I like the artwork/animation for it but, to me, it doesn't seem like it fits the show very well.

Right?? She's fucking annoying. She sits and waits for him to come to her, misleads him, and then she has the guts to complain about him not being "more assertive", like what the hell does she want??. She's as toxic as you can get.

At this point, i just want to see Haru getting a bit of attention from Rikuo. Or perhaps Rikuo being clear about his feeling about Haru and stop making her suffer like this :(

Kyouko might be the most underappreciated characters in this anime. She's been so damn important to Haru and her growth it's not even funny!

God this episode was so good.

The thing I liked about the coffee scene was Rikuo is shown looking at Shinako and the next scene he's looking down after Shinako leaves his sight. I thought that was a great approach to that scene and extra impactful.

Haru is a tough girl. God I love her more and more each week.

I think Haru telling her parents she was going home to not bother the "Newly wedded couple" also had some sort of connection to Shinako x Rikuo. I think the end is near for our poor little Haru and she's starting to accept that.

Yo I swear if anything happens to that Crow I'll kill someone!

Side note: That ending was lit!

Is it just a Japanese thing to brew coffee in the middle if the night? Lol. Just now noticing this is a major trend in anime. Only people who just casually brew coffee at night in the west are students lol.

I think the new ending is a sign of having more Haru moments. I hope Haru stans will like them.

Wonderful episode, specially for Uozumi.
