Finally, an episode that isn't just about a murder case.

I have to say though, they made this episode with style especially with the background music, character emotions, and the little party they threw together. Takuboku in particular showed the most feelings.

One of the lighthearted episodes of this show if you ask me.

Even if you are lovers, do you need to do this in front of people? They are very romantic, really. I like Ishikawa who is always teasing, even though it doesn't sound like a joke, and of the many scenes I somehow like this scene.

Woah woah Kyousuke, what's wrong with you to cause conflict with Ishikawa? Are you acting a poetic play to the one who has your back and secretly envies you?

An episode without a murder case, and Ishikawa, the carefree poet just lazes around like it's nothing composing poet after poet, whilst Kyousuke just complements and worries about him a lot as his partner.

Even between guys, there's a lot of gayness while being casual, and that's the result of Yoshii, Nomura and Hagiwara fighting over a girl's heart through poems. What a challenge pertaining to each other's personalities, and just when it's not enough, Wakayama joins in for the ride...all to be cockblocked by the fact that the girl in question (the tea waitress) has someone else already. GGWP guys.

Kyousuke and Ishikawa going back to the brothel house (of the previous murder case), and the poet has NO shame being lustful HEH to his usual mistress (who already has a busband aside from her job).

But love in all circumstances, can be a sad thing as everyone pictures their poets in different senses. And so thus, the opening sequence for this episode, the accursed beast that lurks within Ishikawa, and the rest of them.

Quite a different episode I'd must say...and not too long before another murder is committed. What it is, next week.

You know, on one hand, I do understand Kyousuke's anger, but on the other hand, he really should remember having just been on the receiving end of pretty much the same in the suicide case...

I'm guessing Ishikawa liked, or perhaps may have even loved her to some extent but he has other things he loves more like money or practicality.

I'm surprised he bought a western-style suit with that money. He does need the money so I won't blame him for being shrewd but he's just not my favorite person. I still can't get over how he framed his own pal for murdering that prostitute a few episodes back.

That cliffhanger at the end though.

Ok, let me see if I got it right. Ishikawa sold the prostitute to some random rich guy (Why would a rich man want to marry a woman who has already slept with so many men before tho? Wouldn't that ruin his reputation considering the time? Meh, whatever) and for some reason got paid for it, even though he wasn't the owner of her or anything. Then went to her, knowing her feelings for him, and told her the situation and asked her to give him the money she was paid, too, cause she would get more in the future now that she will marry someone rich?

Oh, and if that wasn't shitty enough, not only Ishikawa didn't cared about the whole stuff but also only cared about getting the money. Can someone be such a piece of shit? This is literally the guy who blamed for murder his walking bank best friend just because he didn't wanted to bang a random whore. Well, guess what, genius? Now another whore loved you but you didn't hesitate to ignore her and sell her to someone else the first time you could, what a hypocrite.

I just wish the show would stop sucking Ishikawa's dick so much tbh. The guys gets late to his job, wastes his money on beer and whores, uses people as if he was the most important person out there. Yet, the anime not only shows everyone calling a genius and generous, but also makes everyone forgive him ridiculously easy. Wanna bet that by next episode Kindaichi will get back to be Ishikawa's pet? Their relationship is hella toxic but I'm sure the anime staff consider it genuine or some bullshit like that.

I don't know how were IRL Ishikawa and Kindaichi, but I would be depressed if years after I died people depicted either as a selfish asshole or a pathetic loser.

And this is meant to be a show about one guy missing another's friendship? When he's acting like this? Framing his best friend, and then doing this? Wtf.

At this point i am completely lost and seriously don't understand what is going on. Although i do continue in hopes this will get better and hear more poems.

Here's one of them:

"Two pitch-black cats
on a rooftop in the seductive,
restless night,
from the tips of their tail,
pin-straight tails,
a crescent moon,
thin as a thread,
grows hazy.
Meow, good evening,
meow x3
Meow, the master of the house is ill.

I'm level on mal-badges. View my badges.

That's an unfair comparison, before their meeting at the brothel, Kyousuke didn't know that Otaki existed at all, let alone her feelings for him. Ishikawa, on the other hand, has been seeing Oen for a while and he knows very well how she feels about him.

Probably, Ishikawa thought he was doing Oen a favor. After all, he cannot provide her a comfortable life.

Kanbe Daisuke is an asshole in a cool way. Ishikawa, on the other hand, is the most despicable MC I've seen so far.

Hopefully Kindaichi is actually serious. Ishikawa is a genuinely awful human being, and not in a way I usually enjoy. At least in this episode it seems like the writers woke up and realize how toxic he is.

geez Ishikawa is really showing how toxic he's being. First with framing Kind. and now with this? It could just be good intentions (wanting to give Oen security) by bad means (literally selling her off to a rich guy) but damn, hopefully he improves

Quite liked the poetry competition between those writers. The two main characters don't really interest me anymore. Kindaichi should have stopped enabling his 'friend' toxic behaviour by cutting the ties with him a lot earlier. Ishikawa is just low life scum for not only framing Kindaichi and wasting 'his money' on booze and prostitutes, But also scum for selling his prostitue 'lover' to a rich guy just to get some money even though Oen would most likely lead a better life instead of living in poverty with Kindaichi.

I don't like Ishikawa and this anime so far is quite boring, I don't understand literature stuff anyways.
