I'm not nitpicking on slight personality and motivation differences between the MCs. At that point, you are already answering your own question of if the shows are similar or not. That said, I'm a fan of the manga and the show even if it is mostly stuff that has been done before. But honestly, what isn't? Haha alright I guess I'll get back to you in 3 weeks. I only meant what's happened so far in the anime, I haven't read the manga so just based on the first 9 episodes the tone and everything has been way different than what I experienced going through AOT, but I guess I'll let the season finish out and then reevaluate lol |

| Isayama Hajime should be awarded The Manga with The Highest Inconsistencies of Characters' Appearances. He keeps performing multiple plastic surgeries on those Shingeki No Kyojin characters in a SINGLE chapter. Yes, I've read up to the latest chapter of Shingeki No Kyojin manga. Forced myself to read through the kidsketching chapters after the anime's ended. At least from now on, I only have to go through the hell once a month. Patiently awaiting SNK TV/movie/OVA anime-sequel. The 2015 SNK live-action movie would probably suck. |

| I can't justify giving it more than a 5 at absolute best so I guess that answers my question. What surprised me wasn't that it "didn't live up to the hype" (TM) or whatever because really what does, but rather that it was hardly even watchable. I don't know how they could get so many basic things so wrong. Cliche unremarkable storyline that barely moves and is black and white as all fuck about everything, annoying cliche to a fault characters on both sides of the conflict, horrible animation flubs abound, questionable music choices and the strange and seemingly arbitrary decision to make it a split cour. It's like nobody involved really gave a fuck in their positions besides maybe the voice cast who seem like they're at least trying to make the most of what they are given in terms of material. The only reason why the subs have so many replies is because certain individuals constantly and repeatedly attack other people's negative opinions, which is the lowest thing you could do, as well as refusing to accept legitimate criticism, pointlessly responding and arguing aka mindless nonsense. |
