(I'm a novel reader)

I read the manga till the graduation part. and I still hold the opinion that the anime is doing far better if we're comparing apples to apples. I've said it before, but why is our OP MC acting like a helpless damsel in distress? why concern herself with your spoilered tidbit when she can just flatten countries easily if she so wanted?

I also hear some people saying the manga/novel goes downhill from here. I hope this anime would save what the novel failed to accomplish at.

I don't know about the manga, but there's no way in hell the anime is doing better than the novels. That's ludicrous.

Our OP MC isn't acting like a helpless damsel in distress, but just read the title for why she's not going around flattening countries. She concerns herself with smaller, normal stuff because that's the entire damn point: she just wants to be normal/average. It's not as though she's doing anything different in the anime, so I'm not sure what point you're trying to make here.

Downhill? Well, it has its ups and downs, but I wouldn't say it went downhill. I certainly have no hope that the anime will do anything better.

Missed opportunity to do the yamcha pose. And Reinas fathers head disappeared the second time the flashback showed.

also generic "killing is bad" scene. sigh. Thats why you dont bring edge in comedy anime.

The show is certainly no highlight, but its cute girls and no asexual braindead harem MC plot. Thats enough reason to watch it.

Seeing Melie in a maid outfit doing moe moe routines was really cute and her marking out at the rock monster's transformation was hilarious. She really is a closet otaku. Pauline is best girl because she reminds me of a younger version of Momako from Okaa-san online. It seems Reina has blood on her hands from killing people in her past.
The biggest difference between Pauline and Momako is that Pauline is in a good anime

The title huh? the way I see it it can be interpreted in two ways. while the novel focuses on the normal/average stuff (since that's what she "wants"), the anime pokes fun on it. maybe she's not fit to be average. maybe she should be careful what she wishes for. maybe that god that gave her this OPness know better than she does. and I guess I just love the anime's ironic message. at that point it becomes apples to oranges comparison.

Pauline is too sexy. Finally things are getting serious after all those Ultraman and DB parodies and total mockery of JRPG style games.

...The worst part about the novel was the translation. The second team who picked it up ruined it completely. The novel was much better, with plenty of details and far less stupid fluff that makes these girls look like retards. It was also obviously way more coherent, but here nothing really makes sense as they're dumbing down a novel that wasn't that smart in the first place.

Honestly, it's entirely watchable, but this anime is nothing but a 5/10, or a 7/10 with the inflated myanimelist score. They took the source material and stomped all over it, dumbing it down into yet another cliché cute girls doing cute things anime, with slight additions of forced drama and edgy behavior that doesn't click properly because it's forcibly inserted thanks to them skipping a lot of stuff and changing the entire style and plenty of jokes.

Still, I dropped the novel not only because the horrible translator team(known to be one of the worst ones out there, the translator is immersion breaking, petty and sucks at translating in general and most people just wished for her to drop it), I also dropped it because of how stupid it could be. While it was more mature and "clever" than this even more dumbed down anime, there was too many illogical things happening. Her repeated attempts at being ordinary just to screw it up was funny at first but quickly becomes tiresome. As if that wasn't enough, like we see in this episode, they don't kill humans. Despite discussing the necessity of it and the quest being about eliminating the bandits, they just let them live. I ABSOLUTELY HATE IT WHEN A MC LETS TROUBLESOME/EVIL PEOPLE LIVE FOR NO REASON. It's asking for trouble, these people will keep on doing evil shit and ruin people's lives, killing a lot of people in the future. Guess what? All of that is your fault if you let them go. You're the reason all of those future people will be killed, raped and stolen from. You had the chance and knowledge to make the decision to end their lives and protect everyone, but you didn't do it, instead acting like a goody two-shoes. It's quite honestly disgusting behavior from entitled self-righteous hypocrites. It's enough to drop a novel for. Only in a gag/comedy novel where nothing bad will happen and the enemy did nothing big could it be justified to let people like that go, but not here.

Made me want to spit in their faces when they scolded her and got mad because she was "about to kill someone". Get real.

I'd like to direct these morons to read the novel "Reverend Insanity". Perhaps they'll learn a little bit about the dirtiness of humans and the necessity to do what you can to survive and protect your own interests, learning how to remove weeds ahead of time instead of letting them grow to be a nuisance. Of course that novel is kind of hardcore and a bit exaggerated, but the basic idea is there. I've grown weary of these japanese muppet mcs pretending that they're holier-than-thou and that killing is such a horrible sin. If killing a few horrible people can save hundreds of decent people, how is that even a choice? No isekai/otherworld world is the same as earth, laws don't apply properly and taking justice into your own hands isn't just something you could do if you wanted to, it's a god damn necessity to ensure your own and the safety of of everyone around you.

Still won't stop me from enjoying this anime by skipping all annoying parts and just taking a look at the funnier ones. But really, let's all agree on that "mercy" and "kindness" aren't always virtues, they're personality flaws if it means sparing villains and endangering everyone around you.

apparently you won't stop at nothing until the chink chonk chunk prime minister is getting anything less than a total beheading for releasing the t-virus and letting it spread. not to mention silencing people who are reporting this stuff early on. I mean I get you. I wouldn't want anything less myself. maybe my faith in humanity will be restored and I'd get a little bit of uplifting after all these stream of disappointments in my entire life.

well in the next episode at least they got what they deserved. honestly I would have panicked if I was mile. but I guess the difference between me and her is that she has so much leeway that she can afford not to panic thanks to her OPness. she's either too calm or too arrogant with her powers. calmness and arrogance are probably just two sides of the same coin.

Pauline, are you sure you're the daughter of a merchant? and not of the demonlord?

Quite the serious momen at the end there, looks like there will also be some dark elements in this anime

God I love Pauline. I love how evil she is with that smile.

But yeah looks like episode 5 is the one I want to skip. The only part of this series I dont want to re-watch is Reina's backstory. Dont particularly like Reina anyway.

Maid Mile. <3 So cute. ^^

Pauline can be very scary sometimes, haha. Also, she was so hot in that outfit.

It seems Reina she has a very dark past.

Those dolls are so adorable. :3

I thought someone with red hair would appear, some relative of Reina or something. But it was "just" her backstory which made her accept that request.

Mile has quite the silly assortment of knowledge. From maid cafe chants, to thermal cycling, to preparing themed outfits. She might not always be happy to be in an isekai, but the happiness she does get because of her situation is not few and far between!

Also, Reina really had it rough this episode. Her trauma from a previous encounter with bandits resurfacing the way it did was unexpected. I'm glad she's in good company now with the rest of Crimson Vow by her side.
