----------------------------------------
And the volume arrived!!! This chapter was a sweet one, largely focused on Kazusa and Izumi’s new relationship. The highs and the lows, and most importantly, the new and adorable challenges they must face. From the first moments of rushing out the door, skipping breakfast even, to see each other and walk together, the way the world shifts to be more beautiful than ever- perhaps an example of Yamagishi’s words about winning, but also understanding the new territory. In the start it did feel like they were back to normal. They were able to see each other and enjoy each other's presence without necessarily having a moment of falling back into seeing each other as kids. However that changed quickly, the second the idea of ess ee cross entered their minds with Kazusa going over to Izumi’s things got different.

She went to his place and we had an amazing scene. One of both splitting up, thinking of the ess ee cross moments in the past which could have hurt each other, or may hurt each other in the future, as well as immense overthinking on both sides. If only Kazusa could remember her first words this chapter, boys are sensitive too, so communicate!! Instead, the moment of anxiety overcame both her and Izumi as there were overflows of water, and sweet sweet awkwardness. Stressing over where to sit, stressing over when to stop holding hands, stressing over what to say, and the most relatable moment of all, tossing everything into the air the second a parent comes by and dashing to their usual seating. The question of who out of both of them, of course it being both of them, was sweating was a nice touch.

But it wasn’t all cute exploration of new territory, the cast has been split into winning and losing. The other winner who has changed plenty is Sonezaki, justifying and defending herself while articulating her feelings on spot with Kazusa joining in, while truthfully only arguing with her past self over boys being human too. But Sugawara upon seeing Kazusa speak gleefully about her understanding of Izumi didn’t look so hot. And Hongou outside when speaking with Yamagishi confronted him about Tomita. When she saw the normally wry, responsible Yamagishi get flustered like a schoolboy it hurt her in a new way. She thought it was disgusting, that she liked the other Yamagishi, but with the pain it looked like she felt, I’d wager she doesn’t like this Yamagishi because, he’s not that way for her. The reason I bridge this gap with Sugawara’s expression towards the winners, is because she may feel that exact kind of jealousy.

To continue with Sugawara, Momo showed a lot of courage confronting her about what she saw but it made for a pretty sad scene. Momo wants to keep her friends together, and she wants to look out for her comrade and her love finally blooming. There’s an easy answer in her mind, to side with her friends and not pursue Izumi, yet, Sugawara responded to Momo’s heartfelt requests by stating “you can’t have sex with your friend can you?” Something that has honestly been floating around Sugawara since the very first chapter when she told everyone she’d like to have sex before she dies. As to the proposition that you can’t have sex with a friend, I hope Momo proves her wrong!!

For easy finding I would like to transcribe Yamagishi’s quote here.
When people are winning they feel like they've arrived at some kind of profound truth, so they seem more compassionate and open-minded... when, most of the time, they've just forgotten how to relate to others. [...]Literature while losing is more driven and incomparably powerful.”

a subtle chapter going lengths in showing the awkwardness in a teenage post confessed relationship. The duality in trying to pacify your partner without having any experience understanding their pov while balancing out your own sex drive...
Also with how the character development Momo has gone through she may have a weakness for Sugwara while Sugwara is trying to sort out her feelings.
