| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- The final match of the games that began this night is here, winding all the way back to chapter 37. The final qualifying round is between Ogami, Nangou and Washio, Hiroyuki. Hiroyuki sat on Ten’s words and the lessons he’s been through and decided that he’s been playing too childishly and that he needs to work as hard as everyone else here. To do so he crafted a plan to counter the better opponents of his, a surprise attack calling back to the one Ken planned in the beginning of the night. Further, the way he’s going about this and playing into Washio’s hand on purpose to draw all attention away from him reminds me a tad bit of Akagi’s supreme silence. As if he wants to play an attack that no one can sense and this is the way he’s setting it up. I can understand the love of Hiroyuki assuming that, unlike the others, he has a lot of room to quickly develop his mahjong skills. He’s learned lessons and he’s able to grow immensely. That kind of development, if true, will make him leave an impact. I also thought that we could see Hiroyuki’s thirst for mahjong in him yet again, there was never thought of letting Washio win because he would hurt the team in the showdown. He was all about winning no matter what. Let’s hope he doesn’t get his hand cut like Ken did! |
| I have to admit "everything is going according to my plan" is not a thought I have, when I deal into a dealer mangan twice lol. It's also still confusing that they translate stuff as menzen tsumo, when players are winning by ron. But I really am excited to see Hiroyuki making a comeback! We already saw Ken failing at a "surprise attack", so I think we will now see him having success with it. Everything else would be too cruel. But I can also see him not quite make it to the final round. We already have enough interesting characters in the final round for an epic showdown and don't really "need" Hiroyuki, too. But still, I'd rather see him advance than Washio. |
