Just watched the first episode and was surprised that I enjoyed it... Not saying it's good but very watchable.

Is it going to be an approved Anime?

As of today it's still pending approval.

What made you lose interest? Also have you considered Quan Zhi Gao Shou (The King's Avatar) or Zhen Hun Jie (Rakshasa Street)? For The King's Avatar, I'd advise the novel though. For Rakshasa Street, the anime is sufficient.

I didn't mind the animation but the characters just didn't work for me after a few episodes.

I appreciate the recommendations, have tried both of those and they were not for me.

Shuangsheng Lingtan? I just stumbled on it few days ago, I ain't seen it yet though. Since you've seen the first two, might as well go ahead and mention it.

Hadn't heard of it but will give it a shot with thanks!

I find it hard to watch any shows/movies where I don't have an affinity for at least one of the characters.

Personal taste of course is key, The King's Avatar didn't work for me as I couldn't understand the main characters motivation at all... Definitely had some nice animation but I also couldn't work out if they were looking at a screen or SAO style in the game... Actually looked like they were looking at a screen which broke my suspension of disbelief.

Rakshasa Street I think was better, interesting premise, might have to give it another shot since I figure it is a little Natsume or Mushishi like but I just didn't like the characters.

For The King's Avatar, again, the anime doesn't capture much. If you wanna understand more of his motivation, I guess you'd have to go for the novel. Over all, I'd say it's way too early to detail his motivation, that is, if they're planning to make different seasons of the anime? It's evident he's trying to get back into the pro gaming circle ON HIS OWN TERMS though.

For the game play itself, they're actually looking at the screen. To make it more enjoyable, they're giving you an in-game view of everything. You not big on games or what? Why do you think when he does the move where he's hitting his opponent in the air and keeping them there (while attacking from their blind spot), it's confusing to the player it's being done to both in-game and in reality?

How does that break your suspension of belief? That's funny haha. Bruh, you sound like a noob, even if I ain't a gamer. It's allowed though.

I think Rakshasa Street as an anime is better as well. There's more story there, character development, more feelings I guess? For me, I started out with the manga. I was kinda surprised it had an anime out at the time. There were numerous differences between the anime and manga though. So the anime is actually a stand alone.

This is a bit late but, you should really give it a try. After having read hundreds of chapters of this, and finishing the animation ~ I'd say it's pretty good. It does start off slow though
