So we have a rom dramedy mixed with a Kimi no na Wa-esque fantasy directed by Masaaki Yugodsa. Considering how impressive Night is Short, Walk on Girl’s visuals were, Yuasa looks like he’s in his prime, and I can’t wait until he makes his next masterpiece. This may not be it, but I have no doubt it will be one of the years best, even among the a-list directors (Scorsese, Tarantino, Etc.). This could be the next big anime film, and I hope after Devilman Crybaby Yuasa gains the acclaim of his contemporaries.

Sounds bland as hell 5/10 material. Eh maybe the synopsis is misleading and Yuasa can do something special with it.

The supernatural scenes could be as rambunctious as the end of Night is Short, looks so good

Watch the PV, it's somewhat surreal in the second half. Definitely smells of Yuasa, though of course it's not really possible to determine how good something will be just off of a preview. As a general rule of thumb, it's best to just go into things with zero expectations.

It has won an award already so it’s definitely going to be worth a watch at the very least.

Saw it in the cinema. It hit my feels meter at least three times, no wonder Yuasa is behind it. Great soundtrack, great voice acting... and of course, that animation style is why I love watching Yuasa titles. There's something about that style...

But yes, I totally recommend it. 9/10

It's a good film. As he said, the voice acting and characters were lovable. The fact that they focus so much on the interpersonal romance hits me right in the feels. It's a great film, with some great themes.
