what do guys think how far the anime will cover the LN. I heard the ln has ended. and i think it most likely cover the whole ln. and some saying the ln ending is shit as usagi drop. but in my opinion it's not bad at all as the age gap is not big but i agree usagi drop was quite shitty at the end.

Light novel have 8 volumes and it's Completed, I'm not expecting this show to cover the whole thing in first season (maybe in it's secound if it will ever get one). Also I don't expect more than 1 cour.

I mean, they do end up together at the end but here the age gap is only 10 years whereas in Usagi Drop it’s 24 years.

Two at most, hopefully they will end on 1 season and don't ruin it anymore.

I hope this gets a complete adaptation, but that would probably require another season.

Imagine being triggered by the age gap.

What happened to that shit of a "Two consenting adults anything is fine" concept of liberalism? Hypocrisy at best.

No, I'm pretty sure grooming and incest are two tenants of conservativism.

It will probably cover up to vol 3 or 4 (when Latina is still young) but include some of the side stories from vol 6 and up

I hope this will get a second season and covers the whole novel. Mostly because the novel translation has been slow or non-existing for a while now and I want to know what happens in the end :D

About the adoptive daughter-father love that was mentioned: Some spoilers ahead I haven't read Usagi drop and only watched the anime so I can't comment much about that but I felt that anime did a right choice with ending where it did. I felt it didn't need more.
However in this case when I was reading the UchiMusume novel I felt it was pretty natural that Latina fell for Dale when she became teenager/grown up and started to pursue him regardless of how Dale felt about it. There was definitely no grooming from Dales part but from the start he was the person who rescued her and who she felt safe with. Even after she gets friends it's easy to see Dale was always the #1 person for her. I wasn't adopted so I don't know how adoptive children might start feeling about their parents after growing up especially if they are a single parent of opposite sex with not much age difference (I think those cases don't happen often) but I don't find it impossible that things would develop this way.

I do understand the feeling of wanting to keep it pure though because that's how I felt about Usagi drop that has similar setting (though in that one they are actually related I think...maybe) but I feel UchiMusume can show how Latinas feelings change without making people feel weird. At least I hope so.

Well very much depends on local culture:

- in Japan stepsiblings can marry eachother. Same with cousins from same gen.
- in most (likely all) countries in Europe and Americas things mentioned above are regarded as incest taboo and forbidden due to cultural and religious things.

Also I don't say that things as they're going in Japan are "normal" but can be topic of discussion. Also it's in my opinion way better then marrying 9yo girls in some Muslim countries that follows Sharia law.

This really isn't a matter of culture and whether it's deemed acceptable to marry a relative that isn't blood-related; this has to do with the fact that he adopts her, raises her, then marries her. It's 100% grooming and it's disgustingly manipulative, even if they only marry when she's technically legal and the age gap isn't that dramatic. A 28-year-old marrying an 18-year-old isn't awful (not my cup of tea, but it's okay); but an 18-year-old that adopts an 8-year-old, raises her, then proceeds to marry her when she comes of age is disgusting and creepy even if the ages are the same in the end in both scenarios. I don't know if these are the exact ages in the story, but it really doesn't matter (knowing Japan's pedo fetish it's probably more like 16 and 26).

I agree though that it's still better than straight up marrying 9-year-olds (looking at you, Muhammad).

Even if there isn't a supposed case of active grooming (i.e. teaching her to like certain inappropriate things when younger or gearing her toward certain feelings), it's still similarly manipulative. The relationship between a parent and a child is unique, and the feelings that children feel toward their parents (and even siblings) in close relationships often resemble romantic feelings despite not actually being the case. And in the case where a child is adopted at an older age to a young person I can see how those feelings could end up confused. For the parent to reciprocate those confused feelings is disgusting.

it better end like usagi drop anime case.
it kinda ruin the whole premise of the season 1 if they manage to expand the anime.
but it could be fully adapted with 3-4 seasons but i think it will never happen without a studio change cause current studio aim for SoL healing type anime.

The thing is, that is not the case. Latina never sees Dale as her father in the LN and ist actually quite hurt that he treats her as a daughter. She accepts him as his guardian but not as a father. She had a loving father and a loving mother and she never intends to replace any of them with Dale.

In the end, it's HER that has to groom Dale into changing how he sees her. It's a pretty long part in the novels.

Also Incest is pretty Liberal btw. Forgot to point that out. I have seen people on the streets of US arguing that Incest is ok if it involves two consenting adults and protection is used. So you can expect a new I in LGBT+ in a decade or so with a plethora of more alphabets.

Honestly, I think protection isn't even necessary. What about people with hereditary diseases? Should they be stopped from procreating by law because of their genes? I think it's important to know about the risks, but in the end, you do you (as long as people are consenting adults that is).

I won't comment on this issue at all but you should be in the know that the majority (around 90 percent of the world) will disagree with you on legalizing incest and you probably know that as well.

I care more about being right, than about being part of the majority (of which i don't believe that it's 90% but it's not like it matters). It's an individual freedom and no one else's business how 2 people find happiness.
