Those are obviously mechas. The fact that they are magic doesn't make a difference.

I feel cheated because I came hoping for girls doing magic and I get girls riding mechas. I hate mechas. Mechas are boring and I would like to be forewarned that an anime is a mecha anime so that I can avoid it.

On a side note, is there a point in having both Magic and Fantasy tags? While fantasy doesn't always have magic, magic is always fantasy. By the description of the tag something tagged with Magic would never be without the Fantasy tag and that makes it pretty useless in my opinion. If the description for the Magic tag was worded in a way that doesn't make it inherently Fantasy also then this anime could have been tagged with Magic and Mecha.

There are low fantasy shows, without magic like Akagami Shirayuki.

I said that the Magic tag can never be without the Fantasy tag. I didn't say that the other way around was true. "All A are B" does not imply "all B are A".

That kills any hype I had going in. I just can’t get into mecha.

Magic doesn't immediately mean fantasy.
Irozuku Sekai no Ashita kara has magic, but it's not fantasy anime.

Exactly, what's the point of having fantasy tag when every anime is fantasy

I know. I agree with that, but the wording of the tag description makes it always fantasy. In fact, I'm surprised that anime isn't tagged with Fantasy too.

This anime should be tagged with Magic and Mecha, not Magic and Fantasy, because this anime also takes place in "our" world.

Ah okay, now I know what you mean. Yeah, I guess the description is a bit misleading. But still, those descriptions are more to tell you what the show could be about.
Irozuku isn't fantasy. It just has magic (I mean, if we go by MAL's description of genre it should be fantasy). But there is nothing fantastical about that show other than magic.

I agree 100%, it should be tagged Mecha. I would leave fantasy too though - it does take place in normal world (Earth, let's say) but the girls fight in some other world/ dimension or whatever.

I hope they don't add the tag so mecha haters can unwittingly fall in love with cute SD designs.

Or we'll just keep seeing threads flooded with retards complaining about the mechs until they drop it.

Imagine not believing in the spirit of hard work and guts.

That being said, this needs the mecha tag anyway. Easily looks like the best animated one in recent history.

Other fantasy mechas like Magic Knight Rayearth, Knights & Magic, and The Vision of Escaflowne all have both tags, so theres no reason for this not to have a mecha tag

Imagine thinking all mecha shows are boring when it's a vast and important genre. Yucky opinions.
