| They probably just left it out because they ran out of time to include it in the recap movies, not because they wanted to change canon. Remember, this is an AU that takes place in the recap movie timeline. In the TV series both Shirley and Lelouch are dead even though they're alive in the AU. |

Were there concerns that such a sweeping change would affect Lelouch's character motivations too much? And with the character Shirley, specifically... the more we portray Shirley, the more it becomes the story of Lelouch and Shirley.
