things arent looking good. Hikaru must be feeling particularly awful. not only because she lost her pen and their mission ended in complete failure, but none of that would have happened if she listened to the other girls. by the way, that black ink container is a strong reminder of the black ink used in Smile Precure. Madoka's father seeing the rocket first hand - its only a matter of time before he finds out about her daughter and her fieldtrips through space.

on another note, its nice that they took into account differences in gravity. girls being twice as heavy means even walking a short distance is a chore. (i chuckled when they only walked a few feet and started a picnic haha ^_^;;)

This was a good episode. Hikaru is now facing some major consequences for her stubborn behavior since the villains have her princess pen. Flaws like this is always appreciated and gives me hope that Hikaru won't be a Mirai 2.0, or Star Twinkle to be Mahoutsukai 2.0 for that matter.

The Kappard, Tenjou and Aiwarn so far are at best mediocre, but I think they really shine here since they were actually able to gain a "W" against the Precure. I think this trio were more interesting here, fighting together as a team then they were doing it alone. In fact, the last time a villainous generals fighting collectively against was in Dokidoki?

Madoka's father also saw the space ship go off and crash land! Can't wait to see what will happen then.

Next week, we get out first group attack with the Southern Cross Shot ~

This episode was certainly one of the best so far in STPC. The music still blows me away everytime I hear it, it's such a masterpiece. Star's terrified face is now engraved in my mind and Fuwa in despair... The animation quality was also pretty decent.

I'm glad we got this episode regardless, I was growing impatient as in when we are getting the villain powerups! The fight was nice in the episode but could have been better and more action filled with more physical attacks involved.

On a side note, am I the only one who is really suspicious of Bakenyan? He doesn't seem to be that evil...

pretty intense episode early in the series, having the girls fighting 2 overpowered generals and goons took me by surprise, and a 3rd general almost releasing a Notrigger, the episode had a fun start.

two princess pen stolen by the enemies, one of them Hikaru's Taurus pen.

Hikaru is the most reckless precure lead, these past episodes gave me the impressions she felt unbeatable in Precure form, the episode where Madoka transforms for the first time she picks up the fight by herself; she needed to learn quick about it before something worse happened, like an injured PreCure (one of those expectations i had).

she got Madoka's father witnessing their rocket launch and landing (crash) too.
only a little time before Madoka explains her father about Lala/Prunce/Fuwa.

was hard to see Hikaru pretty shocked, Prunce picked her up like a doll.

Hikaru is next girl to be help by her friends, instead of Elena.

you're right. he never actively participated in a fight against the precure, taking a back seat and just being a butler to the evil guys. in this episode, he even stopped eye-one from using the dark pen. his character design doesnt look "evil", either.

i had in mind he could be more powerfull than the 3 current villians, but yeah this episode shows Bakenyan stoping Eyeone from using the dark pen, not receiving extra powers, and a surprised look in that scene, when he usually is pretty calm.

previous episode aparently he got lost a while when Eyeone was fighting.

we may have the cat girl from the intro in disguise? spying on the bad guys.

Hikaru wanted to do a travel and boy things went wrong, the temporal power given to the generals was enough to overpower the girls, who got the Taurus pen stolen and also lost the one they went to collect. To make things even worse, during the emergency landing they fell right to where Madoka's dad is investigating after he saw them leaving (as Kaguya warned that they shouldn't go until things got calmer).

This is a really hard blow to the good side all coming from a bad idea from Hikaru, this is going to hurt her hard... and we will see what heppens next episode if they get found, fantastic episode!

Btw, can we talk about how educational this season has been so far? Quite a lot of interesting knowledge being thrown based on the theme of the series, it's a really welcome bonus.

OH HECK

I’m so used to the Precure winning that when they actually lose it’s a shock. A week feels too long to wait for the next episode

A villain stopping a Precure's attack midway !! So far as I remember, it's a first, or at much it didn't happen much. I kind of want to say: "finally"!

I did not expect them to lose. Or, at much, I thought it would be a two-part episode where they actually win the next time (well, that's kinda bound to happen). That episode really was interesting ! Also the way Prunce saves everyone at the end was kind of awesome. I can't wait to see what's next.

I like the wolf villain whose name I can't remember.

Exactly my thoughts, I did not expect a show like Precure to taught us about tardigrades ! Though I'm still not sure about the Southern Cross being in the UK flag bit.

um wow

I was quite surprised that they got into such a disadvantage this early in the game.
Quite shocking when Kappard just straight up interrupted Star's stock footage and grabbed her pen!

I genuinely think that the cat girl and him are related. Maybe Bakenyan is her lost father or brother because they are the only ones sharing sharing the cat traits so they may as well be related.

I know I swore to never comment on a Precure episode again, but DAMN this episode was FINE as FUCK!!!

I like how sci-fi writers all over the world have a hard-on for tardigrades for some reason. First this one guy develops that one game, then CBS blatantly steals everything from him and turns it into the first season of Star Trek Discovery, and now they even make an appearance in Star Twinkle!

I absolutely love love LOVE it when the bad guys in kids shows manage to kick serious butt and "win". My favorite episode of Disney's Gummy Bears was when the bad guys took over the kingdom and enslaved the Gummy Bears. I can't remember any other examples of the top of my head... but yeah, this was EXCITING!

I like how they once more included a wildly different planet, even if they reacted maybe a bit too little to twice the gravity. And I don't get how the Precure transformation counteracts the gravity effect completely. I mean, they defy physics with it, yeah, but it shouldn't nullify it, only counteract it to some extent, I think. I don't know.

And I like that they once again fucked up by showing themselves to the government. They are not acting smart, and I like that, because too often anime protagonists are smart... for no other reason than that it's easier to write stories that way, I guess. People screwing up, especially young, inexperienced kids who got a whole lot of power and responsibility thrust upon them MAKES SENSE. I would love to see more of that.

I know things will go back to happy regular old times pretty soon, but honestly I would love if they had to work a lot harder for their success instead of pwning bad guys left and right every episode. In any case, I thought of lowering Star Twinkle's rating because it kind of lost me... but I will put it back the way it was.

/edit: Oh, and I forgot to mention. That scene when they called in the ship was AWESOME. Because it made sense, and too often sci-fi doesn't use its own things to solve problems, because it would be too easy. (I am looking at you Star Trek, not using transporter or replicators non-stop to solve every problem) And this was basically the mahou shoujo equivalent of calling in an attack helicopter to mow down the enemy. Imagine if their cute redesign / overhaul of the rocket included anti-personell weaponry... they could deliver justice to the universe via love, magic, glitter and explosive fucking gunshells!

Amazing episode! It's nice to see the Precure team lose once in awhile. But we know they are going to get new powers and attacks soon.

This is great! Now Madoka can be potentially exposed of her space adventures as well as with everyone.

Can't wait either way!

did not expect them to get thrashed. Well, the villains did have a powerup.

Hikaru being careless.. now their rocket will be discovered by the authorities.

Looking forward to next week. :)

Yes? But it still suppose to be for all ages, and then i think the action should be more comical and silly , this went dark and brutal and its early in,so can we expect that they even going to be more violent in future episodes?

I don't thinks its appropriate , i not saying that anyone need to share my opinion. But i do decide how i point my anime, and this show is going to be dropped next time it chose do torture the cute girls .Action is ok but i don't like it to be to much and to dark

Might as well drop it right now, stuff like this is not uncommon in this series.

Also I'm genuinely worried for Madoka, she has so much pressure thrown on her by her dad and now he's about to find out. Yikes...

Hell yea. :U Episode 10 delivers. I better see these girls pushing them weights, getting BUFF to get these guys down! UU:
I actually was thinking that things were going too well and was ready to accept that they'd always win, but this is good too. o3o This exceeds my expectations. I have a feeling it won't hold up, but it's fine. And then dang whoa, here comes daddy. :UUU

Ohh. I didn't expect them to lose. That doesn't happen so often in Pretty Cure. They also lost two Star Color Pens. And now Madoka's father saw their landing. Things got serious very quickly.

I like the design of the villains in this season, especially Ayewan and Bakenyan.

It been a while since I've seen the previous series but I think this might be the first time a villain interrupted mid-attack and the first time the precures had to force a retreat because they were legit about to lose for once.

Hikaru's reckless behavior caused a lot of troubles. She was so eager to see the Southern Cross, so she persuaded the others to come with her. Madoka's father and some of his associates saw their rocket flying. That's definitely not a good thing.

Meanwhile, the Notraiders were granted a new power by their lord making them much stronger.

The planet in this episode was very beautiful. Everything looked like they were made of different gemstones. And the alien, Kumu, was a funny looking fella, like those dog-like aliens.

The Cures shockingly lost the fight for the first time. They even lost two Star Color Pens to the Notraiders including Hikaru's Taurus Star Color Pen.

At least they managed to escape and return back to Earth. Poor Hikaru was crying. She must feel horrible after what happened.

And what's even worse, Madoka's father saw them again and witnessed their landing.

Things are not looking good right now.
