| Gal "Gyaru" is a Japanese street fashion that was born in the 70's, it has a lot of varieties/subcultures (some of them inspired by western culture). The most known is ganguro. Gyaru fashion does not fit with traditional ideals of beauty and behavior for a Japanese women, so it's a sort of "girl power" movement. Because of that many gal girls carry the stigma of slutty/weird girls. |
